The actor who played her had severe health issues (MS) and couldn't continue playing the role. I imagine they didn't simply cast a new "meat suit" out of respect for the actor.

@@JustShin11 No, she wasn't. But how many actors do you think they can have Meg possess before the fans stop caring about her? Actors are what have kept this show alive all this time, and if you keep replacing them then fans will stop watching.

So long as the actress playing her conveys the same energy it's not a problem to say "oh yeah there she is".hell alot fans "love" Lucifer on supernatural & how many vessels has he had? Just saying.

@@JustShin11 Well regarding Lucifer, while Sam was officially his true vessel, i think all the fans would agree that Nick was the one he was meant for. Lucifer always ended up with the same vessel (Nick) after he tried out some others, which gave him somewhat of an identity.
