Jordan used to stick his tongue out when he was going up to flush on someone or pull out a crazy move from his layup package. Bird would tell defenders exactly where he was going and the exact shot he would put up and then ten seconds later go stick that exact shot in their face in that exact place. Payton would just jaw like hell when doing halfcourt traps, it was amazing to watch and he was so much nastier a defender than his son, who is pretty impressive himself defensively.
