Didn't keep mine cancelled me order after I saw the first lot of pictures. Just couldn't do all that to it. I no me, I'd never be happy with it. I got the enter bay one all those years ago. I bought mine off tash. And you no tash it was immaculate, Still had that brand new smell. bought it after watching one of your vids 👍 all them years back. Dude, I had an extra DK cape and put the clips down into the neck hole and popped the masked head back on, you’re able to achieve a better draping cape. Was able to put the clips through the holes as well because the material is thin enough. I do have the OT 2.0 coming, but I was lucky enough to receive a matte suit today. Cheers!

I've been a major fan of Batman Begins since it's release, and I again rewatched it in addition to a bunch of the behind the scenes. In my opinion, I do feel the finish of the 1/4 scale is a bit closer to the majority of the shots. I'm thinking it could do with there being multiple suits in different lighting and environments. It's at the very least a semi-matte black, I don't feel it's quite charcoal.

Yo Dean, why not spray a matte clear coat over the suit? The stuff I used on my DEXTER diorama . The table and the chair I made, was sprayed with the stuff I bought and works amazing. I'll send you some pictures on IG. It works on wood, metal, and plastics

I was thinking the same thing. In fact, I bought some matte latex spray paint for my Batman Begins, but don't know how the paint will hold up if I move the figure. Since it's not a statue, I don't know if it will peel.

The best Way to take out the shine is to sandblast the suit at a very low setting and at a distance. The reason it have shine is because its rubber that is too smooth. Sandblasting it Will add micro pockets in the rubber just like in foam latex as the movie suit

The Batman Begins figure looks so much better after you removed the excessive sheen. However, I would never take the chance by using alcohol and I'm sure that there are a lot of people out there who would agree with me. I would never risk damaging the figure because of how expensive it is. It took a lot of guts to do what you did. At the end of the day, it all worked out and that's the important thing. the best way to fix the brightness of the figure was to paint the figure with clear flat coat

You think the re-release of the 1/4 scale will be a repeat of that awesome sculpt? Looking to return the 1/6 but not sure about cancellation of the 1/4. I have never had to return anything

Dean, is that sticky after using alcohol? I'm afraid using alcohol to remove the shiny thing, will affect the body.

Haven't received my figure yet here in the States, but curious if Krylon Matte Finish or better yet Krylon Dulling Spray would work? I have used Dulling Spray on some quality yet shiny headsculpts with good results. With the cheaper Chinese headsculpts nothing helps, but Dulling Spray has been useful to knock out the shine on others.

I'm actually liking what you've done with that figure now it's makes your other version look too dull and more like the batfleck suit rather than a sprayed nomex survival suit.

There are a lot of references where the suit has a bit of a sheen like the 1/4 scale one, but nowhere near what that 1/6 is

Dean I purchased this figure because I did not have a Batman begins suit in my collection and I’m dying to have one, do you recommend I try and modify it or return it and get myself a toy fair exclusive version off of eBay or something? Would love to hear your thoughts

I spoke to another buddy who also has a ton of rubber and material experience, concurs that doing it one time should have very little bearing long term on the suit. If I did not have the experience I have from costume making I wouldn’t have taken the risk. I was willing to ruin mine. Regardless when my OT cowl shows up I will be painting the entire suit with the flattest and stickiest paint I am aware of which I have used to paint multiple customers costumes. I am not sure why yours has blotches other than the fact I did mine by wetting a microfiber cloth and physically rubbing the suit down in sections.

That cowl is so bad that I have decided to pose mine with the unmasked head sculpt. The unmasked head sculpt is the best part of this figure. This is really my first time being this disappointed with a Hot Toys release. The Val Kilmer Sonar batman is awesome but this thing stinks.

Do you know what I think 🤔 they have done re released the hot toys fair version with added shine on the rubber suit with less additional extras and the wrong title on the box and a horrible design for the stand dean and a inaccurate head sculpt and a taller body because I'm pretty sure that is why the belt sat higher on him

That shine makes the figure look awful, maybe another way to turn it down that's not the alcohol mught have to try on mine a couple of things. I want it for the first night out look, see what can do a Mr. Clean magic eraser, maybe....🤷🏻‍♂️

@@Batdad77 Sorry I thought I had wipes, just checked, I actually have the spray bottle, it's just Armor All Leather Care. They sell a spray bottle and wipes. Spray bottle may actually be better so you could lightly spray a microfiber cloth and use that to wipe the suit. Again, I haven't done it yet, so I can't recommend it, but I just know from prior experiences with other stuff that this stuff is relatively mild.

Let's be honest guys, using any kind of substence to remove shine or any abrassion is a bad idea that will cause damage. Only proper way is to spray mate coat or paint.

@@BlackSnake1602 Eh, from my experience not necessarily. This shine is likely just a coating placed on the suit that could very well dull over time anyways. Leather cleaner, if used correctly and in small amounts, shouldn't damage the material - its meant for leather, which literally can be ruined from just too much water. I'd actually be much more hesitant about using any paint or finishing on the suit because there's no guarantee it'll adhere correctly or screw with the compound that makes up the suit. If I remember correctly, I think Dean had used a matte spray with a previous figure and went on to not recommend it because it didn't work out that well.

Would it be better to use a matte coating with an airbrush to get the flat effect, rather than using rubbing alcohol? It's such a shame that HT managed to screw up a figure they have so much experience with. Lazy, just lazy.

Disappointing. I feel like movable eyes would have helped this figure a lot. With movable eyes you could at least tilt the head down a little and have him glaring up, but you can’t even do that. Shame.

Begins suit fits Bale better when he was jacked. He's just an absolute unit in this second to Batfleck.

You should have used 91% isopropyl alcohol. It would have worked better then rubbing alcohol.
