100% agree! Although I no longer collect Hot Toys, I was always disappointed with the quality of their capes...particularly on any Batman figure. I bought custom capes for all my Batman figures (89, Returns, TDK 1:4, & BVS). A shame when those figures are basically perfect but the capes are just trash haha.

The takara Batman begins grapple gun is more accurate cuz it's smaller. I think I saved that. It's not this big bulky grapple gun. Your Batman begins figure looks amazing Dean The bottom line is hot toys has no idea how to make screen accurate capes 😂😂

Dean, you're not being toxic - a word that's now ridiculously overused with the intent of silencing dissenting voices - you are being passionate. The new Hot Toys BB figure may go down with those who didn't secure it the first time round or those new to the hobby, but the trouble is that Hot Toys have demonstrably done much better, more accurate work in the past. Even their upcoming DX19 looks to have had far more care and attention lavished upon it . They have also been more generous with the amount of accessories in the past as well. Rather than defending these corporations (not just Hot Toys) we should be holding them to a higher standard, otherwise they'll get complacent and take the piss.

I just don’t understand why for a movie that’s been out for such a long time, they can’t seem to get it right. I’ve never owned a Batman from Batman Begins by Hot Toys so definitely was looking forward to this release but damn so many misses that seem easily fixable

I don't get people with this attitude that any criticism of Hot Toys is "whining and hating". These are expensive items, Hot Toys can produce excellent quality when they want to. And if we never criticise nothing will ever improve. Some people just seem to have this fear of "negativity" and only want to hear "omg Hot Toys nailed that headsculpt, I'm so hyped" Praise where deserved but we shouldn't be afraid of giving negative feedback. I interact less and less with the collector community online because of stuff like this. Anyway... your Batman looks so amazing.

You are absolutely, positively 100% correct. Hot Toys can do much better. They've proven that, time and time again. Collectors have the right to point out any obvious faults when it comes to Hot Toys figures, especially given how expensive they are. On average, a Hot Toys figure costs $240-$250. You should be getting your money's worth as a result. It's not like buying a McFarlane Toys, Mattel or Hasbro figure that costs $20-$25. You can't criticize those figures because they aren't made to be screen accurate anyway. They are mass produced figures that don't cater to high end collectors and they are judged and criticized as such. However, people who collect Hot Toys should expect the best quality and there is nothing wrong with that whatsoever. I'm sure that there are newcomers out there who will buy the re-released Batman Begins figure, especially if they've missed out on buying it initially. That's not the case for the die hard collectors though!

First of all you have the corporate loving zealots. The extreme fanboys and girls. They will lap up whatever your Disney's, your EA's, your Activision's, your Hot Toy's will serve up, irrespective of how poor or mediocre that may be. They will "consume" and defend "the product" to the hilt, treat any slight towards it as a personal insult and proceed to label those who exist outside of their bubbles as being toxic and haters. Then you have other demographics. Those who are fairly new to the hobby and are not aquainted to the high standards that long-term collectors have grown accustomed to. They're not used to the dips in standards or the complacency that we're seeing. The patterns. They may have come from collecting mid-end range products from the likes of NECA, and are so impressed with Hot Toys that they think we're nuts and overly fussy for criticizing. Some are so happy to land the reissue that they do not care about any of its shortcomings. A lot of these perspectives come from a place of insecurity. They have just spent several hundred pounds/dollars on a figure and believe they have the best product. Some seek validation, and when it's not forthcoming they get triggered, whether by a critique or seeing that someone else has an objectively far superior custom figure. Most rational people will see where Dean and yourselves are coming from. They'll understand that we have standards and want progress, not regress.

Very fair/ true video. Ultimately I would also want everyone to have the figures they want. Hot toys is getting to a silly price point, but better steps should happen. They do nail ones out of the park.... Batman beyond is the most recent one. One thing that always bugs me, is capes. Hot toys are useless at them. Seeing wired ones return with the black suit superman, but it's something they should nail everytime. Like unreal capes.... If they can do it, hot toys should be. But have to say I am much more looking forward to my batman beyond, compared to either begins or Dx19.

Is it really too much to ask Hot Toys to release a Batman Begins figure that's screen accurate? Collectors are paying top dollar for a Hot Toys figure. Shouldn't they be getting the best possible quality in return? You would think so, especially considering that Hot Toys is about to re-release the Batman Begins figure for a 5th time. Just let that sink for a bit. They are about to release the figure for a 5th time and it's still not screen accurate. They can do so much better and they've proven that over and over again. They've released a lot of figures that are absolutely amazing. They've released figures that are museum quality pieces, which makes the Batman Begins figure release all the more frustrating and perplexing. Otherwise, thanks as always Dean for another great video. I greatly appreciate the continued hard work. Keep it up!

Without a doubt it gives another life to the figure and Hot toys could make all these modifications, but unfortunately they only think about money and nothing easier than making copy pastes and selling again for small fortunes. By the way, Dean, where can we get that custom head?

The neck and cowl is the killer on the hot toys piece they need to improve it before the re-release. I hold out hope that they will especially with all the flack they are receiving.

THATS Batman Begins. The Cape looks and flows super well. It doesnt need to be this thick leathery Cape. That's not how it was in the film. I agree, Hot Toys should've looked out for things like this. People are paying a pretty penny for their figures. Not to say all their stuff is bad, and I'm not saying you are, but sometimes they do drop the ball.

Hot Toys has been complacent about many things for years. Subpar sculpts often happen. Every few figures they get one right. Every now and then, they get one really right. As for their materials, they really do need to do better. Stop using pleather every chance you get. Opt for some form of pliable plastic or something. And their capes are almost always meh. Their cloaks need work too. And just about all of their fabric material needs to be “set” with a proper dye setting, as to prevent all the rampant dye bleed that occurs with their figures. It won’t stop all of it, but it will make a HUGE difference. There is no excuse anymore, for figures costing nearly $300 on average now.
