I know it's been said countless times about countless albums, but it really doesn't get any better than this, whatever the genre. Transcendent!

Agreed. Laughing Stock is perhaps the most priceless piece of all recorded works throughout history. Thematically and atmospherically timeless. Transcendent indeed.

I'm considering the vinyl for my new collection, such an awesome atmosphere to the album
@montag45163 жыл бұрын
@Dean Wolfe I have Laughing Stock on both CD and the vinyl re-release from just a couple years back. Be aware that although the vinyl offers the openess one would expect the pressings do have a slight bit of static noise that is a present at times. Maybe mine was somehow from a less than perfect batch, I'm not sure. The original vinyl pressings (now very rare and expensive) are reported to be rather poor and noisy.

This track is very uplifting to me! Especially in context of the entire album. And yea I believe members of Radiohead have said that they were greatly influenced by Talk Talk. :)

I agree, I didnt use that word but it's perfect, adding maybe restful to uplifting. Last song and my album rating out of 10 coming next

“reflected in returning love you sing” .. such a beatiful line.

My favorite Talk Talk "song" and I love so many... An experience of liberation and surrender, if those two things can meet in a single "song", for me, it would be here. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful experience here. It is very meaningful.

Check out the Thom Yorke/ DJ Shadow (Unkle) track"Rabbit In Your Headlights" which samples this track. Another gem.

Such a beautiful song. Spirit of Eden will do you good as well, it's their album before this. Same kinda sound.

They were! Mark was a huge fan of 'Tago Mago', and particularly the rhythmic aspect of Jaki's metronomic propulsion. Lee Harris, although not as talented possesses the same minimal approach!
