tracks wod you will have to be very thrifty. Avoid the Expatriate Syndrome. When in Ghana as an example move quickly out of your hotel and move into an Airbnb or rent a single or two bedroom apartment costing not more than $200.00 a month. Keep your money in your USA or foreign account. You can withdraw your money at any bank using your debit card from the West. The charge for each bank transaction is $5.00 in Ghana. By keeping your phone from your telecommunication company in the West, you will automatically be transferred to a local telecommunication company such as Vodafone or MTN in Africa. By so doing you can still have access to everything on your phone such as your bank app. With the help of another small phone that you will acquire in Africa you can send money to yourself from your Western phone to your local Africa phone and cash out the money at any local mobile money kiosk by the street. This will enable you to avoid the $5.00 ATM charge of the banks for each transaction. My T-mobile subscription transferred automatically to Vodafone when I entered Ghana. To acquire land in Accra as as example, move a little farther from the city center and find a single plot of land which should not cost you over $5000.00 dollars. Make a house plan of the expandable type where you can build in stages. It means with a single self contained room built, you can move into your own house and build the rest of the house at your own pace.

32 years ago I moved from California to Georgia, I didn't know a soul, I remember everyone in California telling me that I won't like the weather or the people, the racism etc. They said that I would be back in 1 year. The only regret that I have is that I didn't move to Georgia sooner. I left California with 250k cash because I sold all of my possessions. I had no job. I got to Atlanta and opened up my own business in real estate. I went damn near bankrupt in 2008 in the market crash but I'm still standing and happy that through Georgia I've had a chance to go all over the world. Don't be afraid to take chances and follow your instincts create your own path and treat people good along the way.

I was born and raised in Kenya and moved to the US when I was 24. I have lived here for 12 years and go to Kenya at least once every two years. For my brothers and sisters who just pack and move to Africa without researching and preparing well it can be a very disappointing experience. Your money may run out quick and that will lead to regrets. I have lived in both countries and I will say in Africa, Kenya to be precise where I come from you must be a hustler because there are few job opportunities unlike the US. Let nobody lie to you that it’s easier in Africa if you don’t have that money. To be safe at least 100K, and that will need very good managing to take you the lengths. Africa is beautiful and will give you peace of mind if you have something going but if you are thinking of moving there without some serious capital, it will be hard.

Mg Morgan: Thank you for being honest. Yes, life is difficult in every country, the continent of Africa as well. If you don't have a substantial amount of money don't think of relocating to any country. Definitely, not Africa. You must have money to establish yourself. To those who try to sell the Brooklyn Bridge, people just understand, it is not for sale. My point is? Stay where you are. The grass always look greener on the other side. America isn't a haven, nor is any other country. You can always get employment at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Burger King, car wash or any fast food company. As long as you are legal and you have someone in America, you will do as all others....survive. The Africans born in America as well as those coming from any country to America will survive if you want to make a conscious decision to live here.

@faddiegirl Finally, someone with common sense. I get the impression that most of the black Americans who are on this 'back to Africa' kick couldn't make it in America, for whatever reason, and are moving to Africa out of frustration with the illusion all the problems they had in America will disappear. Most of them are in for a rude awakening because they failed to plan, don't have money and not enough education to get a professional job.

The standard voltage in Kenya is 240 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. Compared to America's 110~120V on 60Hz. Therefore, you'll need a converter. _(the name is obvious)_ Available in electrical shops or supermarkets. There's nothing short or wrong in the walls or wiring😅. If the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 - 240 V (i.e. the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa at large) you don't need a converter or transformer. It's a critical info that's overlooked in most visiting or travel guides. FYI: China makes electronic products with standards for each market or country. And I love your realness and flexibility. The intro to this is awesome.

It's quite difficult for our Diaspora brothers and sisters because they are coming into a life quite alien to them and they're just trying to make it work. It's hard for Africans in one part of Africa, like me here in South Africa, to move to another part of Africa, like Cameroon for instance. What about someone who's lived beyond our shores in a foreign continent with very different ways life then? It can't be easy! My two cents is this: first put the love of Africa deep into your heart by studying the history and what's currently happening in Africa, study the people as well if you can, before you even think of moving back here. And these kind of testimonies and reports are good, I think, because they can help someone else make a more informed decision before coming here lest they should regret it afterwards. So it's all good, to each his own. Personally, my bones belong to Africa no matter what happens next.

I don't think she meant for her experience in Kenya to be like a Coming to America movie. It is true the American TelLieVision & movie industry put out lots of bullshit stereotypes of Afrika. She may have been looking for Afrika to be the way she saw on TelLieVision/movies. If they are not showing Afrikan Children starving with flies & snot all over their faces. Or, they will put out video imagery of the tribal people living they way they do tending to cattle, or *_"living in the bush,"_* while a British accented narrator tells more lies about the way the tribal people live. When it's positive info of Afrika but produced by WHYpeepo and the movie (for example) has Black American actors with the tribal music mesmerizing people to think also that's how Afrika is. They make You beLIEve the People of Afrika live in grass/mud huts and wear loin-cloth, eating bowls of sticky rice donated by ChrissyInsane Ministries It's funny how if left up to USA/UK media all You see is those types of narratives. I didn't know for a long time that Afrika has lots of cities modeled after cities in the USA for SEVERAL DECADES. The only city I ever saw on TV growing up was Cairo. KZbin channel creators who are African and based in Africa proved differently the good and bad of Afrika. I look for good I've seen enough of the bad

I found a need in my field of study so I made plans to come help. Perhaps you’re not aware it’s condescending to say we think a Hollywood movie, Coming to America is truly Africa; along with your crying laughing emoji’s. No I apologize, that doesn’t seem like someone that likes us. I missed the humor in her story. We’re not uneducated people we love Africa. Also I never see Continentals speaking against Africans born in America being targeted for robberies & scams when we come to the Continent. Your assessment of me is incorrect. I love my Continent & All The people there. My family helped Africans when they got to America. This lady only had $1,500 to move to Kenya was she not trying to survive too? (my brother helped build a church in Kenya) Because that’s all I see Continentals saying when we get robbed there; the thieves were only trying to survive. The targeting of us has to start being addressed by Continentals publicly. That’s my only concern which is A legitimate concern. Peace.

Don't be fooled. I'm an African American, ( naturalized) originally from Africa. Having not completed, the video, it is literally impossible to survive on $1500 , at least where I came from, which shall remain nameless at this time. Again, having lived there for nearly 30 years, in my opinion, I'd rather ' struggle' here in America, than in Africa. Just my two cents. What sense does it make for one to leave America, because you're so disenchanted with life, and travel to Africa, to sell what??? There's a reason why only poor, down trodden, people sell those types of wares most of the time. Because it is not SUSTAINABLE. There's a reason also, why thousands of people emigrate to from Africa to the US. Mostly to seek greener pastures. And in most cases, from my experience, whenever immigration status is legal, most people find themselves way more successful than the African alternative. Sometimes, we just have to be appreciative of what we have in America. Anyway, to each his or her own. Again. Why would you leave America to go to Africa and STRUGGLE? Again. It is what it is.

4 things AA should know abt Africa: 1) Africa is a continent. Just like Asia & Europe. You don't go to continent. You go to SPECIFIC COUNTRY within a continent. Like Ireland or Italy in Eur. Or India or S.Korea in Asia. Africa has 54 countries & 1000 tribes/nations speaking 3000 languages & dialects. The most diverse continent on earth. 2) English is a colonial language. It is not an African language. It was imposed on us us by White colonizers & oppressors. We learn it & speak it as a 2ND LANGUAGE bec we find it useful in things like education & to communicate with strangers & foreigners. But it does not speak to our soul. Only an African language can fully express African cultures. In SA speaking English to a relative or friend is considered an insult or acting UPPITY. With AA English has become a mother tongue.... AA will never understand Africa until they learn at least 1 indigenous African language. 3) In Africa AA are not seen as African. But as Americans of African descent. Big difference. Despite colonisation we have retained at least 80% of our cultures while AA have lost 80% of African cultures bec of slavery. Another thing, we don't have the 1 drop rule. Mixed race are not Black here but Mixed or Colored. Oprah is Black but her man Stedman is Mixed or even White since he does not look Black African. 4) Africans did not sell AA into slavery. Only SOME AFRICANS did. About 30 or so tribes (out of 1000) along the coast of WA & CA. The other African regions had nothing to do with the whole sordid affair. If 2 Eur nations committed the holocaust you don't blame the whole continent for it. Same here.

Tanzania or Kenya should be ideal of you but I recommend Kenya because people can relate with what you do. There are many of us working online. In Rwanda and Tanzania, you may collide with the close minded authorities in no time... Uganda is a good country but the internet will frustrate you.

@@nairobinyeusi5811 . You will be surprised that there are now a lot of African American communities in South Africa. What is actually attracting and has attracted them to settle in South Africa is because of the land issue in Ghana and also the infrastructure. In South Africa they own the land fully after purchase it's not on lease like in Ghana. These people have built mansions my dear and unfortunately they do not want this cheap KZbin publicity that's why you don't see them here showcasing their homes. These are people with money I tell yah and their homes are built by legitimate construction companies and not the one or two men builders we see on KZbin.
