Yep, I am happy I binned the first iteration of Hedgie. And that's the creative process isn't it. Try something. If it turns out not quite right, try to make a better one. Just don't accept 'almost OK' has become a bit of a motto with me these days.

Oh Jill...You did an awesome job on Hedgie's prickles! He has really become so handsome in his brush coat. I can't wait for the slug pie recipe as their Christmas treat. The grandfather clock and mushrooms go so well with the lighting. Overall, the house is getting cozy. TFS.

Don't want to put you off your dins but the Maori here eat Huhu grubs which are thick whitish grubs that develop from eggs laid by the Huhu beetle. And if you think the grubs are big you should see the beetle. It is fabulously horrible. My father tasted a grub once, toasted on a shovel over a fire by a gang of railway workers. He said it tasted a bit like peanuts. Well, I took his word for it.
