Dear Men of God, here’s what you need to know about godly manhood - Part 2 I loved how y’all kept it real in the conversation about biblical masculinity and leading as men of God. As a woman, what hit me the most was the way y’all spoke on humility and submission. Listening to the podcast had me reflecting on how important it is to steward my life in a way that mirrors Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate leader, and it got me thinking: how do I lead my life in a way that reflects Him? When y’all mentioned John 13 and how Jesus washed His disciples’ feet, it immediately brought me back to a personal experience. When I first joined my church a few years ago, I was part of this small women’s group, and one day, the leader washed all of our feet. She had a little bucket, some water, and soap, and washed each of our feet, just like Jesus did with His disciples. It was a powerful moment that really touched me, even though at the time, I was still new to my faith and didn’t fully get it. But that memory has stayed with me. When I asked her why she did it, she said that, just like Jesus, she wanted to remind us that we are one with Him, that He’s walking with us and leading our steps. It was a simple act of love and service, and now that I’ve grown in my faith, I look back and understand the significance of it. Honestly, at first, I thought it felt kinda strange-like, ‘Why is this lady washing my feet?’ But looking back, it was such a real example of humility. Jesus showed us what true humility looks like by washing His disciples’ feet, and in the moment, it might feel awkward, but later, it makes sense. Sometimes, humility is exactly that-looking silly for something way bigger than ourselves. Another part that stood out to me was when y’all talked about masculinity in its purest form-taking the lowest seat. Jesus, who had every right to take the highest spot, didn’t. He humbled Himself because He was so secure in who He was and His mission from the Father. I thought that was powerful because today, we live in a world where people are constantly competing, trying to be seen, and climb over each other. I’ve struggled with that, too-focusing on what everyone else is doing instead of lowering myself to serve others. But hearing y’all talk about that reminded me that sometimes God calls us to take the lowest seat, and in doing so, we find the highest purpose. One last thing that really connected with me was Chandrae's story about her dad. It made me think of my own experience with my dad. Chandrae had to show love to her dad, because maybe he didn’t grow up with that example of what love really looked like. And in the same way, I had to learn to forgive my dad. He was in and out of jail when I was younger, and when he came back into my life, I was older, but he still treated me like that little girl he left behind. It made me mad, and I had a lot of anger toward him. I held onto it for a long time. But I came across a video recently that talked about letting go of the expectations you put on people who can’t meet them. That really spoke to me. I realized I had been holding my dad to this standard he might not have been able to live up to. I was so stuck on who I thought he should be, that I couldn’t accept who he was. But God showed me that forgiveness wasn’t just for him-it was for me, so I could stop carrying that bitterness into other relationships and finally heal. But just like Chandrae showed love where her dad might not have had that example, I had to extend forgiveness to mine, even when it wasn’t easy. It reminded me that love and forgiveness go hand in hand. That’s the connection I felt to her story. I’m super grateful for this podcast. Y’all reminded me that humility, submission, love, and forgiveness aren’t just things we read about-they’re things we have to live out, even when it’s hard. Thank you for staying obedient to God’s call and sharing this. I can’t wait for the next episode!🖤❤️🖤🫶🏾🙏🏽
