A recent study found that millennials spend more than six hours a day feeling stressed out. but Ellen assured the young adults that it gets better - only if they don't go to college and rely on Bitcoin.

I think it's easier said then done to not worry about your future until your life is set in place. I'm constantly terrified about my career choice in the future and what I'll be doing, if I'll be married, where I'll be living. It's a horrible era we're living in so it's hard not to worry. Until the minimum wage is at a reasonable medium then I'll stop worrying. To be fair we all don't make millions a year (I love you Ellen but I'd kill to make what you make). I know it's a go to to say to not worry too. I just wish I could stop worrying

You should worry about your spelling of the word "allot". You should spell it as a lot in the context of your sentence. Allot means to give or apportion (something) to someone. A lot means to a great extent, so you worry "a lot" about your future. Let me tell you worrying doesn't get you anywhere. We cannot control life, only how we act, try and behave to situations and people.

I worry every day about my future. I work and go to school full time and still have to take out loans. By the time I finish, I will have around 60-80K in student loans. The cost to buy a home where I live is no less than $600,000 and that is a teardown in the LA area. I worry because I know that even with a college degree I will always have to rent. I know that I will never have my own apartment because it is $1,600+ for a one bedroom. I worry about how it will take me 30 years to pay off my loans. I worry about how I will afford to invest in retirement. I worry about helping my family. I worry about the stability of my current job. I worry about school. I worry if rent will be paid this month. I have to worry. Some of us don't have the resources not to worry.

I don't understand the getting out of the rat race mindset. I want to earn money to have enough money to pay for any emergency e.g. medical issues or accidents. I think it's absolutely possible to live alternatively and super cheaply and off of not much at all in the bank, but someday one will need money.

I wish I could. They told me to study hard, so did I. They told me to learn languages, to volunteer to get into a good college and to graduate with good grades. I did all do that but getting a job that pays enough for me to pay my college loan. They say Millennials complain all the time about silly things. We do because since we've been lied by the older generation the only thing we can do is complain. But I get what you're saying but it's hard being young and poor.

Way too many people my age, myself included, are constantly stressed. Student loans drag us down and force us to live paycheck to paycheck while also trying to help support our struggling parents also. We also struggle to find to decent employment even as college graduates and if we are lucky to find employment, we worry about being laid off the next day due to pressure of not being hard enough workers while our wages are stagnant. Also while older arrogant people judge us and say we are lazy, entitled and spoiled while entering adulthood in a recession and way more debt and limited opportunities than they had. No girl is able to date me because they feel stress also and adding a relationship complicates their lives more and my fiends are always working and never have time off to breathe. I now have to see a counselor to deal with chronic depression, stress management and career coaching to hopefully have a decent future. As a 22 year old, I shouldn't have to deal with high blood pressure even as I exercise and eat healthy all the time. If my life remains like this when I'm 30 in seven years, I'm checking out.

My generation (18 - 25) grew up on the internet, take advantage of it!! I sure am. And if you want a tip that will boost your success here: - Work means progress So set goals, work all day if you have to (still get your 8 hours sleep) (who cares about your free time) and achieve!
@prg46476 жыл бұрын
Anthony D. That's the the way that they want you to think so you can be a slave of capitalism. Work all your life like a dog, so you can sustain the system of the one percenter's. The quality of life has become crap. You have to work until your middle 70's if you want to survive. Health is scare and good forbid you get sick because the cost will be astronomical.....oh, and if you think about going to college, good luck if you can't pay it out of pocket, because you will be deep debt before you are even legal to drink. Lobbyists and dirty politicians have turned working and living into the slavery of the 21st century
@Anthony-dk7de6 жыл бұрын
Pam Rod your idea is a 180 turn of mines. You dont get it.
@prg46476 жыл бұрын
Anthony D. I do get it... Hence, my reply. It's nice idea, but we have to be realistic here. People will not be rich by working 12 hour shift. For somebody to get rich it takes a the "Stars aligned the right kind of way" kind of luck. Is a matter of knowing the right people, having the right skills, ingenuity, being intelligent and sometimes money. Of course there are cases where just working hard will get you recognized inside a company and you can get an awesome paying job.... But that happens once every blue Moon. It's not that is bad being an idealist, but in the world that we live today, just working hard doesn't cut it anymore
@Anthony-dk7de6 жыл бұрын
Pam Rod Where theres a will theres a way. Especially since we have the internet (a great thing) for research. Theres no way anyone cant make good money right now.
@prg46476 жыл бұрын
Anthony D. Hahahaha telln that to the millions of people with 2 and 3 jobs, living paycheck to paycheck trying to survive. They can't get sick or take a day off from work, because even a couple of hours less on a paycheck will set them back. It's nice to be positive, but you are falling into the idealist crap that "rich idealists" try to sell you, while selling you a product

@kaue3i3366 жыл бұрын
Heygurlhey You're going to take a deep breath and gather yourself. I know the breath will be labored at first because you don't feel that you can afford one. Then, you're going to take another. A calm mind is a powerful one. Next, you're going to get out your resume. Hopefully you have created one. Write down all of your skills, abilities, what you have to offer. Think deeply. Don't short yourself. Throw out the old resume and create a new one. This is your reset, not your regress. Ask for reference letters from non family members, preferably former supervisors and managers. Think about the jobs you want. Write the resume with this in mind. Write forward, not backwards. Dress like the job you want. What I mean is, dress with confidence and your head held high, even if it's difficult. Now, hit the pavement running. Put in applications in person if they'll accept. Let them see you. Research each place that you put apps with. This will allow you to show how interested you are if you use what you've learned effectively. For instance, something as simple as knowing how many offices in the area, companies they contract with, and Especially any of their recent achievements. Make sure to chat with front line personnel. You'd be surprised how much they can influence decisions. In the meantime don't be afraid to take a stopgap job to hold you over. Drop everything that's not a necessity. You need the economic wiggle room. Use any free time to volunteer doing something you're passionate about. Here's your opportunity to network. This could provide job leads. Also, it's something you can put on your resume. You may even be able to get a reference. This is your opportunity for reset, and progress, not regress. Remember that no doesn't mean never, and that failure is just feedback. So, persist. I can't stress how important dropping anything not a necessity is. Also, how important it is to breathe. You can't give what you haven't put in. Sorry, I wrote so much. I believe in you.
