As a 370z owner, I really want to like the Z, but after looking at one at the stealership, it's nothing more than a 370z with a Q50 engine. Other than the infotainment and dash, everything else was just like the 370z. Nissan, imo, is going down the same path as Mitsubishi.

I think everyone was disappointed with the amount of carryover from the 370Z. It's a little ridiculous considering the 370Z already had like a 13 year run...

It’s a parts bin, however that’s a good thing, the vr30 can get 1000whp with ams alpha 10 turbos. Obviously need to be built however a conservative number on stock block is 720whp with 575 lbft of torque.

While I agree that reserving final judgment on a car until driving it is a reasonable way to look at things, I've been in the car scene long enough to have a pretty good idea of what I will and won't like, and whether something a manufacturer decides to do seems like a good thing or not. As a Nissan fan, I really hope that the Z Nismo changes my mind, but I have my doubts.

Nissan keeps this up they won’t be around much longer. They take decades to update their cars. The titan is being killed off by low sales. I don’t think the new z is selling well I have yet to see one on the road.

Well, sir, if you really want to go fast on track automatic is much faster than a manual especially with a turbo car there’s a reason why the top manufacturers don’t do manual and if you really building boost, a manual card is really no fun to drive Nissan created that car to be modified

To be fair, I did say in the video that an automatic is going to be faster. That doesn't change the fact that this segment still buys manual transmissions at a much higher rate than others, and Nissan ignoring market demand is a weird move. Also, saying manual cars making lots of boost aren't fun to drive is extremely subjective. If that's how you personally feel, that's fine, but there's a lot of people that would disagree. Trust me, I want the best for Nissan, but the Z Nismo was just kind of an underwhelming upgrade. And that in itself would be totally fine if it wasn't a LOT more expensive than the base Z. There's just so much better value out there.

0 reason to get the nismo. Get the base, it’s lighter and you’ll upgrade the parts anyways so upper trims are useless. The vr30 is the same in all the models. Base z can get 700whp-1000whp depending on what turbos you choose. The vr30 sounds amazing with a Borla exhaust.

I agree. It still irritates me that there's no LSD on the base, but at least that's only a roughly $1,000 addition on the aftermarket.

That's absolutely not true, historically. I had a 350Z Touring with an LSD, for instance. Most of the more recent Zs have LSDs on basically every trim but the base.

That's an incredibly shallow way to view any car, and not at all my problem with it. Nissan has made some genuinely questionable decisions with the new Z, especially with the Nismo. There's plenty of cars that are astronomically out of my price range that I still have a ton of respect for and always will. Being able to afford a car does not mean that you shouldn't question any decisions that a manufacturer has made for it. That's just ignorance.

Nissan know automatic version is way faster then manual those days are over that why Nissan decided for nismo Model automatic only because u can beat computer. & quicker lunch Control and 9 speed so why are all exotic car automatic because there faster!!
