Dealer greed and the mfr not stipulating that they should sell for MSRP is why you don't see them. You can buy a 2007 GT500 for $35K and peel the paint off that yellow car that none of us can afford anyway. Same for a 2006 GTO. $30K gets you a low mile GTO, LS engine, and money to spare to make upgrades someday. Buy old and make those cars faster / better. If you want a Fox Body 93 Mustang look at the LX convertible. No one wants them so they are plentiful, cheap, has a 5.0, etc. Compare that to the 93 Cobra which is $65K (ridiculous). There are deals on fast sports cars that you can buy with low miles, big engines, and not break the bank. Screw buying new and paying the dealer markups (greed fees) I bought a 2007 GT500 for less than $30K and couldn't be happier.

At this point, it's not a supply chain issue. What it looks like is its a dealer mark up issuse. Also, Nissan didn't help itself by equiping the car with crap tires from Bridgestone. Better Bridgestone options could have been used helping the car with a more secure driving feel

It's definitely a supply chain issue. I'm waiting with no updates since Jan 2022 on my pre order in Canada. It's a factory order with Nissan guaranteed to be fulfilled at MSRP with my name tied to the VIN. Most others here are in the same situation.

The car looks much better in person. Nissan did a good job of adding modern things while staying true to its heritage. Do we need a brand new platform? I know my 2009 370z is bullet proof. And while its aged well, it was time for a make over. Anything more isn't really needed. The power and thrill is all there with a flick of the foot...lol.

I'd have to agree. I looked hard at this car when it initially came out. I was excited about all the above, emotion attachment from when i was in college, and manual transmission. What was a big turn off were the dealer(s). They were asking &70,000 to $80,000. I haven't been a Nissan customer in the past and this was not the way to lure a potential buyer in my opinion. There were other new models out from different makers but they were not price gouging. I ended up buying a BMW M240i X-drive for $56,000 with most available options.

I haven’t seen one on the road in my area. About four local dealerships have at least one in stock. Problem I see is the 10 to 15k over sticker price. I will never pay over MRSP for a vehicle, if the trend continues I just will not buy anymore vehicles.

@@a36538 It has an improved chassis and a twin turbo engine over the 370z, much better starting point, it's kind of like how the GT-R was incrementally improved from the R32 to R34, Nobody says they want a R33 over an R34. The Zupra is nice for the price though since they offer it with a BMW stick shift now.

Case, I always enjoy your review videos. You've got a confidence and comfort balanced by enthusiasm that makes the videos fun to watch. I've always loved Nissan's (and Datsun's) Z cars, with the possible exception of the 300Z that Roman is so fond of. As a kid, I lusted after the 240 and 260, and I appreciated the 280. As an adult, I lusted after the 350 and 370, but as a Dad, I needed four doors, so I bought a 4-door Infiniti G35 that shared the power train. The G35 was my favorite car of all the cars I've owned until I bought my 2020 JCW Countryman, but that's another story. This new Z is intriguing, but the dealer markups are as nauseating as those the American truck dealers are bludgeoning customers with. That alone has to be holding back this car.

STOP GIVING THE DEALERSHIP POWER OF THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLES! I use to BE a car salesman and nothing made me more angry than when my sales manager would either tack on to the sales price or play with the numbers so the backside of the deal ripped the customer off to make the dealership more money. Or do what I would consider ethically not ok to put a loan through and not come down on the price.

We don't see a lot of them because there are VERY few for sale. Here in the Denver/Boulder area we only have ONE for sale. Nissan just isn't building very many of them IMO. Auto Trader shows only 6 new ones available nationwide.

I read they are having a problem with the new paint process for this car. That has slowed down the number rolling out. I haven't seen one on the road yet. However, I haven't seen the Toyota Supra on the road either.

Saw a yellow one at C&C last month. By itself it's not a bad looking car but it was parked next to a 90's 300ZX. The cowl and belt line are ridiculously high and it looks bloated in comparison. I'm sure it's fast but I would take a nice 300 all day over a new 400.

The issue is that its over priced for being an updated 370z (They literally share many of the exact same part numbers). Nissan decided to charge way more money for a refresh body and a different engine. Plenty of things I like about it. But for its money, I would be hard pressed to get this over something with more power and better handling.

I have a 2024 Z and love it. This is my 5th Z car overall. I wouldn't have paid the $55-57k MSRP they're asking for the performance trim new. I bought mine for $49k with 6000 miles on it. I live in the Austin, TX area and have only seen 2 or 3 on the road. I like the fact that it's fairly uncommon.

Thanks for the video, I'm lucky to have a 2018 370Z which is my pride and joy. That said I've seen only 2 of the new Z here in the upper Midwest a very uncommon car. The bulk of both previous and currant Z production being sold in more southern areas. I'm not sure why Nissan markets their sports cars this way perhaps because of low availability.

Actually, I just saw one today in dark grey, but I admit that I rarely see them here in Utah. I imagine the same is true in Colorado where you guys are because so many people in both places are driving 4x4 pickups and SUVs, and much fewer choose sports cars (probably due to the long winters in CO and UT). Unless you can afford to have a Z as your second car, it's not really practical to drive year round in a place that gets a lot of snow.

I really love this car, I just don't think the bang for buck is there, even at MSRP. To me, you can get a lot more with something like a Camaro LT1 which has a V8 with more horsepower, and a starting price around $40,000. It's a shame the Camaro is going away after 2024.

It isn't just the ridiculously high dealer markups that are killing sales of this car. Its predecessor, the 370Z, was a better looking car that was significantly cheaper and nearly 200 lbs lighter, important in a sports car. With a few minor bolt on up grades and a good tune you can get close to 400 crankshaft horsepower in a 370Z and coupled with the lighter weight have a better performing car. Nissan should have just incrementally improved the 370Z that was already an excellent sports car and a great value and priced it accordingly.

It's Nissans marketing. The new z changed way more even though it's still a 350z than Ford changed with the "all new" mustang. Look at Mopar, running the same mid 90s Mercedes chassis and yet their marketing team is selling hellcat swapped EVERYTHING like hotcakes to fat people.

It exists in the world with the Supra and is strictly worse by all objective measures (including average price), and also largely considered a worse car subjectively as well. You have to do something better than your competition to have a chance at success. Instead it’s an upgraded 350z (seriously, underneath it is) with a VR30 swap and new body panels. Call my shocked that people don’t want to pay MSRP for it, let alone the market adjusted rates.

I drove a 2024 Nismo. Such a disappointment on how it up shifts in sports + mode. Way slow on shifts and still has heat soak at the track or country road. It felt like a cheap old mustang. Old school because the chassis is old and dated. No thanks MSRP at $70K not including taxes. If it weren’t for the C8 , Supra and mustang. it might have had a better chance. The Jaguar F Type is on its way out. Which is a much better engineered car.

Flop! I own a Z32 and a new 3700 pound Z34 is like driving a 400hp Z32 with a 300 pound fat chick as a passenger. The wheels and tires are too skinny. A 450hp Dodge Viper came with 13' wide rims and this Z has 10' wide rears. Another failure. The $6000 stereo is a $100 Ebay deck with 480p screen and I believe it mirrors GPS from a phone and don't have a stand alone GPS built in. No spare tire. Bad paint. And the VQ30 engine overheats in the Infinti Q60. Front of the car looks like a catfish.

Under produced. Nissan only produced only 560 units this past year Can't keep up with demand. And these are only built in japan along with the gt-r. Unlike the rest of their models which are built in mexico. That's why it's easier for Nissan to push their other models, as they can produce more of those in other factories.

For a freshened up 370 they are grossly overpriced. Just under 40 to 45 for a decked out one would be more reasonable, and they would sell all day long. Then add the dealer markup and no one wants them over other options. Same mistake trucks are making. 60K for a decent truck and people will just stop buying them.
