Regardless of what you think of him I respect the brother for allowing the story to be told from both sides. In the end, this is a Christian based platform. Christianity is about forgiveness, redemption and reformation. If he wasn’t interviewed I would’ve been more shocked.

@@tyannforde2570absolutely. The interview was very real. He wasn’t allowed to paint her in a bad light or make excuses. He provided context. And forgiveness, if given, doesn’t mean forget or be foolish. We still need to have a discerning spirit.

I can't relate to a sociopath. He sat with a bold, straight face everyday appealing to an audience of naive, and thirsty women, only to be cheating on his ex-wife like a dog. I even remember the interview he did with K. Michelle when she said "Men are not good people." And he gaslit the heck out of that woman, saying "it's just the men you deal with"... As if he don't belong in that category himself 🙄😂

This interview was simply “damage control” for Derrick. Typical narc behavior to do whatever it takes to preserve one’s image. And while he took accountability for some of his actions, he still played victim at certain moments during the interview. I’m not saying that Da’naia was completely innocent, but her actions to be unfaithful were provoked by his initial unfaithfulness.

I hope pt 2 has more accountability. Derek should not be praised just because he is admitting some of his stuff, and so called "being honest." HE GOT CAUGHT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND IT MESSED UP HIS MONEY! He has to be forthcoming to preserrve his image and business. But he mishandled his wife with that "bonnet" Facebook live and then he got caught again. Yes, forgiveness is the key, but if you keep violating in the same manner, it speaks to a deep character issue. Yes, Jesus will fix us, if we let Him, but you gotta yield the issue to Him. Cmon Derek, get some real Christ centered accountability and have several seats.

Why? Because It’s not fair to her, my kids, or me to commit something that will tear down the very thing we are trying to build. He’s full of excuses. You should better take that time to watch YOURSELF and your ways with the people in your life instead of watching D.J. He is not your husband or your brother. Please take it easy. We as Christians should learn to give grace to people. Jesus even on the cross, did it and so did lateras too. He allowed D.J. to defend himself, although he doesn't owe us anything. But as a public personality, he felt like doing it. So let's pray he finds peace and more stability and become even a better person than he is now. Let's behave like christians dear. Remain blessed.

Abstaining from sex gives us time to see who these vessels really are without that whole soul connection the comes through sex . It’s easier to cut somebody off when you haven’t been having sex with them . Cut them slam off .. these demonic vessels out here trying to take Gods children out but it ain’t working .

I just want to point out a nuance - he spent this time saying “I tried my best but she just didn’t comply & I personalized it & reacted”. That is not the perspective of someone who genuinely understands their wrong. I’ve been married - and after divorce, had to say “this was 100% my part”..and end it there. True “repentance” is accountability minus the culpability of the other party. Great interview Laterras. You provide space for people to feel safe. It’s needed.

As a survivor this would feel like a slap in a face. But business wise it’s a smart move. My abuser is just like DJ ( I don’t have proof of any physical cheating) but these type of men are very strategic at storytelling, charismatic, and know all the right things to say and what what faults to share to appear humble. and yes they have wounds and troubles from their childhood that will make anyone for sympathy for them. That’s how us fixers gets deceived. But most “faith filled” ppl will do is throw the blanket of blame on both people. But these deceivers are so good at deceiving they’ll have you questioning everything. I don’t have time but I could break down this interview on how he’s still a wolf. I had to go back and listen again. I think it went over Derrick's head. Derrick threw a few jabs on about the name DFW being coined by him and jab at the first two counseling sessions he had with Da'Naia. Interesting how he glossed over trying to be a good man by being a provider, being there for the baby etc knowing their primary issue was of him cheating to begin with. Yes, she may have had trauma, but he really never addressed how he would "will" himself to not cheat on her. I guess it may come out in part 2.

Listening to both parties show how important it is for people to heal before marrying. Marrying is a commitment and vow before God. We take it so lightly and treat like boyfriend and girlfriend. I am 34 and not married and I am working through my trauma because I don’t want my marriage to pay the price. Myles Munroe said a lot of people are broken up not because they don’t love each other but because they lack knowledge to make the relationship work. These two broken individuals got together requiring each one of them to be responsible for each others healing. 😢😢😢. I hope they both truly face themselves and heal and so in the future can they can properly love someone because they have mastered how to love themselves. 😊

How would you know... So broken people can not experience real love? Well... i do not agree. Jesus gave us HIS LIFE which is the highest form of LOVE to us, BROKEN people. We are short coming in thousands of ways... yet Jesus loved us. Some of us are CRIMINALS who have killed other people, but HE still came through for us! Therefore, i would argue that even BROKEN people can still experience REAL love among themselves because love is a gift from above and it has NOTHING to do with once being worthy of it. How they handle it, might differ from one individual to another. Some will reject it like some of us REJECTED the love of CHRIST. It still doesn't negate the fact that jesus gifted us with TRUE love. SO did aneya and D.J. They might have received the gift of TRUE LOVE. What they did with it, is up to them.
@esbizzze
@esbizzze Жыл бұрын
@freshdesign2026 Of course, broken people can experience real love. Like you said, it's what they do with it. When you continue to use that as a weapon against each other and don't deviate, then you may want to consider that it is not divine. At least not from the most high. I wish you healthy wellness. Who has not been broken at some time? The point is to ID the source and work to save yourself. Not continue to ask for more of the same from that source.
@freshdesign2026
@freshdesign2026 Жыл бұрын
@@esbizzze The source might be right. But they are, like we both agree, struggling with the pains of the past and have so many difficulties seeing each other's beautiful love. One thing is that they can't stay away from each other... So let's allow God be God in their lives and in ours as well. Remain blessed dear.

I could absolutely careless about him talking about his trauma because he is intelligent enough to know that intense therapy and resources was needed. He found someone that he saw as a good faithful incubator. He knew from the jump he did not want to be in a committed relationship. I can’t judge him because that’s Gods job. He definitely is dead wrong for what he did to his family and manipulating women on his platforms smh

"I cant judge him.." you say... as you proceed to say some judgemental shit. Be honest! We humans have this inate feature to judge each other. I judged him too. But the grace you would like to be accorded to you (i dont know you so you are probably even worse than he is) , is the same grace you should accord other human beings. The Law of the Universe.

@@atasteofcherie3970 It is sad you read to respond and not to understand. I did not accuse you of being worse than him. I said "i dont know you so you are PROBABLY even worse than he is" Sad I had to point that out. Also, you just contradicted yourself. You cannot say "I cant judge him" and proceed to judge him. Makes no sense. What he did was wrong yes. But my thing is, we all have our sins. Including you.

Great episode! I’m very pleased that both parties are being presented the opportunity to be heard and seen. There’s much grace to be given and received when it comes to dealing with infidelity in marriage. And this marriage unfolded in a most ugly way in front of everyone’s eyes. I appreciate this podcast for being a safe place for these 2 individuals in this crucial time in their lives. I’m looking forward to part 2.

Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.

First off what did you do to lose her? Second please don’t use witches and spells to bring a person back. Seek Ye The Lord for guidance. It could not be meant for you two to be together. However, if it’s God’s will it will happen. Again, why did she leave?

😮😮😮This is SURPRISINGLY blessing my heart. As a single mom raising a teenager son….there is so much revelation God is showing me through this man (I don’t know his platform) but I can see the little boy and teenage derek while listening to him as a grown man, and humbling realizing this could be my son as a grown man. Not condemning because I’m a single mom etc but eye opening and the love and grace of God to show and convict me to shift. Wow!!!!

This episode is clearly an eye opener as we now get to understand the context behind their relationship. My opinion is this: A Turbulent relationship leads to a Turbulent Marriage that will break down eventually. By looking at the patterns in their relationship, they both needed to find themselves. Their actions and reactions just show two "broken" people who need to find healing.
