Also did it solo with LS. Not hard at all. By MR200 you're supposed to know the elder's moveset, since you've fought them in the GL for upgrade materials...

Yeah I was under the same boat. Tried 4 times with randoms, then eventually decided to solo it instead. First try with the swag axe and I wasn't even using iceborne combos but mainly using base game combos.

Your best bet is to make a full dps build for this quest. I used a saed spam CB build. Lunastra died before she could even do her nova once.

did that quest a while ago with 3 randoms. same guy fainted twice at teostra already but we still completed it. couple days later my savefile got corrupted, had to download a 2 months old one from my PSN cloud with ~120hrs less playtime and never touched that quest again since then....

All the elders have a fourth of their normal Health. So of course a lot of high damaged attacks and even medium damage attacks what killed them in less than 10 minutes if you have four experience hunters

Gunlance and WF is fine in MP, but to do it on the head or anywhere else while several teammates are getting, trying to go for head, etc. damage doesnt make sense. You lose overall damage on the monster cause teammates did get combos off when the monster was down. I was the hammer teammate I got blown off like 3 times.

Doing it solo is much easier since it's single player scaling. They died fairly quick
