@@Hooman374 "whether" not "weather", and chargers are small so you can just pocket one in addition to the other back-ups. You can buy a can of Pringles or Stax chips, eat a few and use the remaining space for storage if it comes to it. Of course if you carry a roll of tp, you can slip a charger into the empty space in the middle. I always carry some extra tp/tissues/etc too. and doubled that when I had kids along... Better to have it and not need than need it and not have it. I was also a Scout leader.

Once I visited a beautiful village, I helped a man to fix his car's brakes on my way to find a place to stay the night, he asked me if I wanted to spend the night with him and his family, but I refused, couldn't trust him. Later when it was getting dark, I saw a girl being harassed, got into a fight with them and they eventually ran away. Took her home and she asked if I want to stay the night (My style made it obvious that I'm not for around there) I agreed, and the man I helped earlier turned out to be the girl's father :)) I also fixed their vacuum cleaner and antenna, now whenever I visit there, they ask me to stay. Told this long story to say that your ISTP is so freaking accurate. The style, the way of packing, the things they read and EVERYTHING-

Oh yeah, packing is the time for that Si to shine. And since the internal senses are indeed acute, they need to be cared for, so better be prepared for many kinds of possible situations that might arrive, so there is a "slight" tendency for overpacking (but ah, the pleasure it brings when you need something a bit unexpected, but actually have brought it with you. Take notes from ISTPs for handy multiuse tools). But I admit that all that is packed in "just stuff everything there" manner until I run out of space. - INTP

My ISTJ dad and ESFJ mom, tried both to teach me to have an extremely organized luggage so everything can fit well. But being the ENTP that I am, I found a loop hole, one that takes less effort. I just travel lightly and I do not have fold nor place anything carefully. Because I can just throw it all in there and it will fit. They still got mad at me, because it looked like a mess, and I was like, why does that matter? Everything fits, there is no logical reason to put the extra effort. But now that I have learnt functions, I understand them, I still do not care about doing it, but I understand them.

The ENFP is so relatable like every time I leave the house - I actually stayed at my grandmas for 2 nights like earlier this year and forgot to take pyjamas- so I ended up wearing my grandads which were oversized but super comfy. And one other time I forgot my toothbrush. And like when I was at primary school I would loose my cardigan nearly every day and have to check lost property. Saying that though at secondary in 5 years I never lost a tie and I count that as an achievement. However because I have an ISTJ mum who has frequently got annoyed at my forgetting things since I was about 4 when I pack most of the time I am like the ESTJ actually packing so I don’t forget something basically I forced myself to develop my Si- Te has always been strong I actually originally typed as an estj but I know I’m an ENFP now- like Ne is unfiltered and unbridled (except when life restricts it like standardised tests) Like I’m well organised for an ENFP. However when leaving the house in general I relate so much to the ENFP. You even got the singing and the weird phrases spot on (never used flinging clanging lootely but defo one for the future).

Hehehe same. I started my mbti journey on and off. Possible types: ISTJ, INFP or INFJ. Then somehow when I hear about ENFP everything is started to make more sense! I am always weird somehow, that weird phrases and singing? Still doing it! Forgetful? I still am! I was an energetic kid before and grew up to be systematic. You should see how robotic I become 🤣 I confess I ever said "I have my own system to organize". What the?! My friends laughed pretty hard at my chosen words. Most of the time I invented new words/phrases/at the very least I speak gibberish however I want 😅 so my family always have trouble to decipher me. So I started to mumble whenever I wanted to narrate whatever I'm doing in my weird language 😂 Ahaha I'm having fun. Yeah that book though. Relatable 😆 sometimes I succeed in reading, most of the time not.

What's way more fun is they are Freudian slip machines! because their minds are a boiling soup of Ne, and they talk on autopilot without thinking. But once the essentials (and the in-case-of-emergency and backup items) are packed, you can bet I'm stuffing every last available pound and cubic inch in luggage and coat/vest pockets with consumables so I don't have to buy so much basic stuff while at pricey, touristy places. And for the trip back home, you can bet I'm stuffing every last available pound and cubic inch with acquisitions that one can't buy back home. Because you can bet I'll do just about every conceivable thing short of asking someone for help (*shudder*) to maximize the trip's return-on-investment!

Yes exactly! Took a month long trip to Africa and only brought a backpack. Inside the backpack I had everything including a rolled up duffle back to use as my carry on on the way back and then my friend (esfp) used my 'check in' for the bag she bought on the trip to bring all her souvenirs back home (yes she ended up with like 4 bags of luggage at the end). My INFP packing steps: 1) Ask ESTJ for checklist. 2) At last second, pack checklist items and entertainment items (tablet, chargers, books). 3) Run out the door. This *mostly* avoids issues with forgotten items. Having been raised by Te-doms I do have SOME of those tendencies…namely, if it does not fit in one bag and one carry-on (one carry-on only for short trips), it isn’t going.

(Though I learned on a recent trip that if there is more than one parking garage, this is NOT a complete solution to the problem!!!! XD ) --INFP

The INTJ should make that two shirts and make the sweater a cardigan (black, of course) that she can layer over the shirts. That way she's covered if it's warm two days in a row. That's what I did for a 10-day trip, but I took 5 t-shirts, not two, in case I spilled on myself or in case I got caught in the rain and had to change in the middle of the day. I also wore the cardigan on the plane because I get cold. ~Another INTJ, in case you didn't guess.

INTJ flew over 300,000 miles checked in luggage ONCE and that was of a close & co-passenger ISFJ friend's pelican case full of audio equipment (that he bought for someone/something else). He had multiple check-in bags, so made each one of us to take one & check them in on our name. I agreed only after establishing that I can't be arsed to handle luggage claim, immigration etc with that thing - he was relieved that I agreed in the first place. Back then I had no clue about personality type for either of us.

You know, I felt like I was being called out when you got the hat in the way of the glass. I can just imagine myself going, "wait, there isn't normally an obstruction here... oh yeah, I'm wearing a hat." What's weird, in my case, is that I've often found that despite the fact that I prepare at the last minute in a totally haphazard way, I still seem to end up being more organised than everyone else. Only just yesterday, I had to go to a function at a restaurant and bring along my order and deposit. I woke up about 20 minutes before my friends were supposed to pick me up, I got washed and dressed at the same time and scribbled down my order on whatever scrap paper I had to hand. When we all got to the restaurant, I found that I was the only person who had his order ready and brought cash with him. Everyone thought I was super organised and efficient when I actually just did everything in one 20 minute frenzy.

I don't bring back gifts. When I was going to New Mexico, my mother-in-law once asked me to get a Navajo ring in size 10 because she wanted a birthday gift for her granddaughter, who was a tomboy and very athletic. I bought a geometric-pattern inlay band ring in sterling silver. My mother-in-law took one look at it and said she didn't like it, so there I was stuck with a ring that cost money and that I could never wear (I wear size 5). Never again will I buy for other people.

The ISFP skit was hilarious! In real life, though, I pack almost exactly like the ISTJ! Complete with the photo at the end. Aesthetics and efficiency are super important to me! I think I also summon my inferior Te to help me successfully accomplish this, and I saw in another comment an INTP was mentioning that they use their tertiary Si when packing. It got me wondering, how many of us turn to our inferior functions when packing for a trip?? On a semi-related note, I worked at a secondhand shop with an ISTJ, and we made an excellent team! Especially when setting up displays. Our combined efforts resulted in a highly fashionable and impressive presentation, with touches of whimsy to keep things fun and fresh. That was some of the most fun I've ever had at a job! I was amazed at how many commonalities we ended up discovering in each other... I also often relate to the ISTJ skits where they are dedicated to making sure they have JUST the right gear for every adventure. I like to keep my packing minimal, but I despise it when I discovery I'm missing something essential that could have improved the experience.

@@nerysghemor5781 Haha, sounds about right... Actually, my mom is a Ti-dom so it's even more intense sometimes! Haha! Ti and Fi clash famously, and we do sometimes...
