Everyone who argues against this passage is wrong, and scared little children.

Death seems too easy though. Its like he's saying death brings enlightenment rather than just future incarnations. Both are beliefs not to be trusted.

@@straightastudent683 only those who are enlightened would know And I think letting go of your sense of self (enlightenment) would require not caring if you die tbh

all the answers are in the questions if u look hard enough. what dies? what is the i? the heart does not know its pumping. is it thought? memorry? the mind? imagionation?the liveing organism knows nothing.death is full of vitality and clarity. time is a strange factor in life. the future is the present and the present is the past.that what doesnt exist wants to know that what does

With Birth, come Death. That's part and parcel of this Dualistic Saha World (Maya) . Seek therefore for the Eternal Heaven where Oneness abound.

Would meditating on death night and day really make your life happier? I'm not sure of this, but I haven't done it yet either.

Just think everything you experience and see will be gone one day and how your time here is important.

@nielsjoklein What a hollow bunch of self serving nonsense. Selflessness, when truly known, Isn't acted out for selflessness sake, That's just another excuse to call self. Its just acted. Look, right now, deeply into the possibility that there is no you of any kind and actually... all action is already selfless, The assumption that there's a thing taking or claiming the action is what twists it into selfishness. really. look at it honestly. There is no you behind your actions or thoughts.

This is truly morbid. While it may be useful to periodically contemplate death to think of it constantly is neurotic.

I love Jed, but I can't stand this whinny dramatic over emotional voice. More people need to read Jed out loud so more people will listen. I'm sure others are put off by this voice too. It doesn't match the content at all. Back to the books.
