I have a really hot take on this. I have not read any spoilers and I have only watched the first two episodes. I think Rufus is the killer. Notice we never actually saw the video that he cut out I think Rufus simply walked in, killed him, walked back out, and then erased the tape. The restaurant cart was just a red herring. Why did he kill Danny? I think it's because Rufus is a fraud. He was never a great detective and Danny did all his work for him, even probably writing his book. Over the years, Danny got frustrated by all this and threatened to go pubic and Rufus killed him over it. Not sure how this all fits in with Imogene's mother's death - that might be a separate case and maybe Rufus will get some redemption by eventually solving it. But Rufus as the killer of Danny would be very Agatha Christie-ish, and we know she was an inspiration for the writer. Let's se what happens!

I like the show. It has a little bit of only murder in the building feel to it. But speaking of detectives i would have liked Mandy Patinkin to be a bit more eccentric. I guess i'm just use to that with Poirot and Daniel Craig in the knives movies and such. I don't really have a bid on who did it yet. I feel like we've only scratched the surface so far, but two episodes in and i'm enjoying it. Just happy we get a whole new murder mystery. They're getting popular again which is great.

Yea I would like a little more charisma but exactly what you said I think he has to be a chill detective as opposed to the more popular ones we know and I think as the season goes on the role gets more expansive atleast I hope? And yes I love the genre is making a quiet come back

I think the little sister who showed up late to work on episode 1 killed the man, and the mom of the family who took in Imogene killed her mother. The little sister would fit into the cart easily and knew the layout and had motive. And Imogene’s dad is probably Anna’s dad which would give Anna’s mother motive and explains why they were so quick to take in Imogene when her mother was killed

Ohh I really like this. I do think the sister getting to the introduction to character speech happened before the murder but the sister still fits the mold for the rest of the theory. And ohhh snaps! Same dad theory I love it and that adds a lot of weight to plot and motive for Mrs Collier! I’m bringing this comment up on my next episode!

Love that you're doing these reviews! A couple of things though. The briefcase exchange was not between the dad (Lawrence) and a member of the Chun family. It was between the Colliers' lawyer, Llewellyn, and the crew manager, Teddy Goh. The crew, including Teddy, are not part of the Chun family, unless that is later to be revealed.

I think the waitress/staff/sister Winnie is the killer and agree that the Mum put the hit on her mum

Who is Imogene’s father? That may have something to do with it. If her father is (I forgot his name) the head of the company, then that would make Imogene a potential heir to the company. If the victim found out it would be motive for murder.

They never said who her father was but yea in later episodes I am suspecting Lawrence Collier may be her fatherb

In the first episode I am getting the feeling that Imogene has a twin sister. I noticed while watching the scene on the boat deck there is an employee standing on the left edge of the bar just standing there. She is the only employee wearing a hat in that area and doesn't seem to be doing any task other than watching the guests. Also, the woman has short blonde hair like Imogene's hair. Another thing that leads me down the twin theory is the whole speech that Imogene had with the captain about things being different, even if they look the same. I also could be looking too deep into this but the employee stood out to me, and she wasn't seen during any other scenes or any of the scenes where the crew was assembled.
