Yeah, wasn’t a fan of how they changed Sindel either, so this was cathartic alongside her defeat in MK11

The change wasn't wasn't fully in purpose as the closest model they had to sindel was Felica(Darkstalkers)

The reason Sindel looked so different in the animation is because they took the same model they used for Felicia, the cat-lady from Darkstalkers, and modified it to look like Sindel in order to save on animation time and costs. Black Canary got an original model so she looks more accurate. Love this Death Battle, two of my favorite characters (horrible retcons aside) and as much as I love Sindel I can't argue with the outcome.

They use weird metrics like Sub-Zero's ability to crush diamond in MK 1. So does every other character, it's a generic test your might mini game, using that in a death battle seems disingenuous.

Comic characters tend to gain a lot of benefit in these battles from writing and art in comics putting the Rule of Cool above consistency and realism. When street level characters are paired up in teams with god-like beings, they have to make it look like the entirely/mostly human characters can hang against the same enemies that trouble characters that can literally move planets, and there's where you get things like normal human strength Black Canary being shown breaking steel robots, or normal human speed Black Canary able to do things that would require superhuman speed to. That's not to say that characters from other media don't also have cases where Rule of Cool was used to make it seem like they're more powerful than they actually are supposed to be, but comic characters get passed around A LOT more than characters in other media. Black Canary has been in 3136 comic issues according to the Comic Vine wiki. That's a lot of opportunities for creative teams to get stupid with what a character who isn't supposed to have any super abilities besides screaming really loud can do.

That scene where Sindel broke a rock face is from the old move Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, which was a sequel film. Watch the first one, ignore the second one. It was so bad that almost all the original characters refused to reprise their roles on the script alone. Poorly written, poor graphics (even for that time) and trying to force in as many characters as possible gave no one a decent backstory. It was bad

This happened before the aftermath story mode from MK11, but also before they started to have MK characters higher in statistics, making canary unable to remotely stand a chance Canary isnt as powerful as people in comments or siding death battle wanna believe Sindel would be consistently around levels of power of shao kahn, who merges realms (of universal size btw)

Team Sindel✊, they clearly had a bias. Didn't even mention sindel's banshee teleport which could have saved her🙄. Also that she can take souls, because she has all of Shang Tsung's power. So they are saying that Sindel and Shang TOGETHER could not beat canary!? Cap🧢

Adding the ability to run away wouldn't give Sinel a W. Canary's still fast enough that Sindel can't keep up in close quarters, significantly more experienced in combat, and has a scream that puts Sindel's to shame.

Black Canary had this one, she has even more insane feats that they didn't mention. Batman once mentioned she can vibrate atoms apart and granny goodness wanted her to train the furies, who are gods from apokalypse! Giving sindel her movie feat, which isn't canon to the games, didn't even help her and I honestly think the minigames shouldn't count either since their just minigames, not actually apart of the story. But when you can scream so loud you equal the blast of a meteor, strength and magic don't really matter.
