Long time ago there was a store called Borders and they'd have endcaps where you'd put on headphones and could listen to random CDs. I was in high school and I just randomly was able to listen to this album while standing in a store aisle and I just distinctly remember being floored by this song and its concept. Been a fan ever since. 20 years ago?

They're INCREDIBLE live btw, haha. I drove a few hours and saw them in Kansas City, they were absolutely EPIC!!!! They're my all-time favorite band. They played for a solid two hours of pure awesomicity but they didn't play my favorite song (which is Styrofoam Plates) in the set and i was super bummed. But then they came out for the encore and it was the first song they played, best day of my life hahaha. Well.... i'm glad i told that near pointless story to a total stranger......

Some fun and easy songs of theirs to play are like Passenger Seat and Different Names For The Same Thing. Title and registration sounds kinda cool on the piano too haha

There are some amazing bands out right now, you just have to filter through so much crap, especially on the radio in my area. DCFC, Arcade Fire etc. are wonderful, and you will never hear them on the radio. You'll hear every clone rock band in the world, but nothing significant. This is a good time for music that is different, and it is getting better all the time.
@zentazym14 жыл бұрын
11 years later, Arcade Fire are on the radio from selling out and death cab hit the charts a while ago. Dcab is still good though. Postal service still releases sporadically. Music didn’t really progress like you’d have liked I would imagine.

Doesn't sound like there's much, if any effects. He's going through a compressor of some form (either a pedal or in the amp head) and maybe a bit of overdrive to boost the low end.
