Hey guys! I'm away this week so there'll be no Twitch streams, Middle Earth Monday will be back again next week too, I promise! There is a 12 hour Twitch stream coming up on the 9th of September though so mark your calendars!

06:00 I fully agree, it's important to have a passion project or two so you cam unwind and just have a good time painting something leisurely
@MediocreHobbies Жыл бұрын
There so important. I use twitch for it a lot of the time.

Cool paint job as usual Andy 👍🏻 I vote for the Stormblade to be painted next. I’ve painted one before and it took ages - I can’t wait to see what you do with yours 👍🏻

Ye it’s a fan favourite for sure I even have a very rare upgrade pack for it.

ABSOLUTELY would I like to see these FW tanks in games. They're rare enough in videos but especially once they go to legends they tend to be forgotten about completely in battle reports. I think they'd fit in really well for your more narrative focussed batreps, plus it's just cool seeing more krieg stuff painted up. That thunderer looks lovely! I have 2 but had a feeling they'd be going to legends eventually so modelled pintle heavy bolters, so that they can at least be proxied as demolishers with a hull heavy bolter.
@MediocreHobbies Жыл бұрын
Clever boy getting them ready for after legends.

loved it mate, I have just got back into the hobby after a long time out. My 8 year old son gave me the push to get back into it, when he discovered my old minatures's from back in the early 90's, which he loves. Seeing the passion and skill that you and others have is a true inspiration.

That’s a good idea! I sometimes do showcases on my Patreon as well

This was a cool video, I like that it was more of a "I want to do this" rather than "I need to do this" kind of video I feel like having a side project during projects is fun be it painting a mini while assembling others or assembling a new mini while doing some batch painting. Great video as always Andy I can't wait to see the next tank

Any armor you do would be great. The model looks fantastic and I like the weathering! It looks dirty without looking in need of an overhaul. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.

The transfers make a massive difference. The super heavy tank would be my vote. Have a great break man

Cheers pal. And yes the transfer stage is so important.

For the weathering powders, if you can use white spirit to fix them, not brushing over them, just touching the surface with a wet brush a letting the capilary action work. This way, the powders keep the dusty look and they fall off much less. Also rubbing alcohol works, but is less durrable.
@MediocreHobbies Жыл бұрын
Oh might try that, cheers man!

Great stuff as usual. For tracks I just like doing primer black and heavy drybrush with metal color. Then can do dirty effects later and highlights as I need. Super fast and for me looks good.

With pigments try the ballast or binders. They do leave the pigments looking different. I can see the Stug, but I mostly see the WW1 stuff in the tanks.

Not judging your weathering by the way. I am glad it makes you happy since that's the whole idea. I just stop watching at that point in the video but let it play through to the end so you get credit. FYI I just bought a thunderer off ebay inspired by this video. I too am a Krieg buff.

A STuG is not a tank destroyer. It's an assault / infantry support vehicle. But i get where you're going with it.
@MediocreHobbies Жыл бұрын
Depends what gun it was fitted with. Early model was support late model was a tank destroyer.
@rogerhack3750 Жыл бұрын
@@MediocreHobbies true, but then it became a jagdpanzer instead of a STuG. But yes, the type of gun on the chassis kind of decides what it became. Still, good video, tone it down on the powder (see what i did there?) 🤣
