Kinda makes me want official alternate versions. I understand why shows slow things down and provide inner monologues so that we can actually... like, follow along, at all. @alucard3472 ай бұрын
I don't really see why? I think I would probably reach the same conclusions as light in that situation, assuming I'll even realize that there is a message. L was setting a trap to light, but in the process also fell into a trap of his own. Just because his hunch was correct, doesn't mean that this is a good strategy. This gave him no information to actually use, besides reinforcing in him his suspicions about light. If L tried this trick with another suspect and got a similar result, it would just lead him on a false trail.
@allieginter84382 ай бұрын
@alucard347 basically, L wanted to see if Light would conclude whether: A. The order was wrong but the information was complete, or B. The order was correct, but the information was incomplete If Light had been any other super-genius, he might have at least considered the possibility of B before going with A.
@alucard3472 ай бұрын
@allieginter8438 I understand that, but it has two critical flaws. 1. You cannot prove that all super geniuses would go for the other option, it could be that he is just thinking differently than L, and first wanted to present the possibility he thought was correct, or he was hasty to impress L and made a leap of judgment, etc. 2. That by itself is in no way a proof about anything. It is a good way to reaffirm L's suspicion, but it doesn't actually give him any real reason to be suspicious. Sure, in this case L is correct in his suspicion, but if light was innocent, then L was just strengthening his own beliefs about his guilt without ever coming with any actual evidence. L really goes with vibes most of the time.
@allieginter8438Ай бұрын
@alucard347 yeah, it wasn't ever going to be a make-or-break test to 100% confirm if Light was Kira, it basically was just a vibe check. Light caught L's eye, and so L wanted to collect data on him. In this case, he learned: 1. Light never considered the possibility of there being more messages 2. Light doesn't react well to losing

I did see one comment though that explained that that's just a little exercise for L to determine his own suspicions of Light being Kira, and that any regular person would've deduced to the panels showing the total amount of photos (1/4, 2/4, 3/4) Or I might be wrong on that, but since L didn't make that clear it really just seems like Light's incorrectness was just based on him divinely assuming that there's a fourth photo. By that logic he could just assume there's a fifth or sixth one, right?

I think the better takeaway is that even with the fake message, Light is still correct. His assertion was that the order they're numbered renders the message he "figured out" to be nonsensical. Adding "have red hands" to the message doesn't actually fix this problem.

It's almost like this story was originally written as a manga and was meant to be read entirely in your own head as part of sequential art. And turning massive multi panel long internal monologues which you can read in the span of a few seconds into massive verbal dialog that voice actors have to recite for minutes on end was kind of a dumb adaptation decision.

I never watched with show but why did it close up on his toes? Is it important to the plot?

@@JingJongJimmy honestly it's just to characterise L. He's very mysterious and has a lot of strange characteristics and I would say that's just one of the things that form it.

Yes this caught me by surprise. I didn't really intend for this to occur. I will definitely consider making higher quality videos now that I've caught a bit of attention!
