I've seen other say it, but I don't think their voices should be switched. The only word I can think of to describe Rem's voice is "ethereal." She sounds otherworldly. I'm not actually sure how to put it into words, but the light and mournful sweetness of her voice fits a character who has lived and observed humans for thousands of years. Her voice carries a chill (sort of) that lingers even after it's silent. Misa's voice is warm and loud and it demands to be heard. It's the sort of voice I'd imagine lends itself well to an impulsive character like Misa, who lives in the here and now rather than in the then (either past or future). All this pretentiousness to say I love their voices and I love that they sing the parts they sing.

@@beyonka152 listen to the Japanese version "A Cruel Dream." I think they got the perfect Rem there: older, wiser, and with a note of sadness that stays with you. Their Misa is soft, sweet and devoted to Kira against all advice from her friend (Rem) who loves Misa more than her own existence.

I love this song, one of my favorite song along with the reprise in the Japanese version. I also love that at first Rem condemns and bashes love only to be hit hard by its effects and ends up becoming a "fool" and dying like a "mortal"

I don't understand why people say that the singers should switch voices. I believe they fit. Carrie has a nice voice, soft and mature which would fit for Rem, where as Adrienne has a powerful and mature voice, very unlike Rem and as an alto-tenor, I like Misa as an alto and I feel it also fits Misa. (I know it's a bit biased, but Misa sounds amazing in this) As well the way they sing, Carrie has a certain kind of voice, if you listen to 'Only Human' you can tell their voices being switched would not fit, and if you listen to some of Carrie's covers you'll tell.

I think its because Adrienne has a more powerful godly voice. She kinda drowns out and makes Carrie sound innocent and the young one. I don't agree they should be switched, but I can get it.

I want to hear Death Note from Rem’s perspective now, why did they have to make her so damn intriguing in the musical? They killed her off way too early in the anime/manga, they should have at least given more time to develop her character first

SAME. It wasn't recorded, unfortunately, apparently. Well, that's what I've heard. Apparently a fan managed to get all the demo recordings through connections (knew someone who knew someone who was involved with the production), and they've all been shared now, so the ones we don't have, we never will unless we get an English-language production. I wish, though...

We are supposed to eventually get some English recordings, however the directors, writers, ect. don't know when that will be. They said it will be translated and performed in London before it is performed in the US, and idk if they are gonna use the same cast.

K. B. There are rumors that the Broadway production is coming soon, probably in the early 2020s. I believe that the Netflix remake of Death Note was made to popularize Death Note more in America, so that a lot of people will see the Broadway show. By the way, there were rumors of the English Death Note Live Action remake floating around since 2009, and we got it in 2017. Sadly, it was very inaccurate.

Well, no. These aren't actually new. They just only now reached the Internet. But it's been confirmed that these are all there are. There aren't any current plans for an English-language production, though it could certainly happen (members of the creative team have expressed interest). It would most likely not have the same cast, as that's not usually what happens with this composer (who records demos a lot).

This song is pretty spot on. I have always been a bookworm and an introvert but when I met my ex girlfriend I did a lot of bold things to impress her and safe to say some tactics others did not. Misa Amane is waifu, no I prefer Naomi Misora. Loved this play and I never tire of watching it.

Thanks to Ryuk a love 🍎 and talking back to bullies. Thanks to Rem I finally understand the true meaning of love. Thanks to Misa I've learn to fight were I believe in. And thanks to Light I see the world a different way and stand up for the weak who can't protect themself. (And L is just either stupid or smart to kill Light and torture Misa) (But those two will undoubtedly work well together)
