Although I miss the fact that the carnage symbiote no longer needs Cletus Kasady, or any other human host, I was mesmerized by how quickly Carnage transitioned himself into godhood throughout the video and I almost forgot about Cletus Kasady. Now, I feel like he's more than ready to face off against Eddie Brock. Thank you, Variant for this video. In addition, if they decide to make a movie out of this, I hope that they do not disappoint. I knew Carnage was a badass character.

There is no way I am going to believe that knull got defeated that easily by carnage. Knull cut the head of a celestial with the all black, tear the sentry in two just with his bar hands, defeated cosmic King thor with one strike with his all black sword. Hard to believe just how far this character has evolved since his debut. Being nothing more than a stronger darker Venom symbiote to being a fucking god. I'm not gonna lie, it's kinda dulling down for me. Carnage is my favorite villain of all time but to see him reach such unkillable levels loses some value for me. Especially since while he becomes so much stronger, characters like Spider-Man seem to be written in an effort to be far weaker which isn't all that fun to read anymore.

Storytelling in comics has become so saturated with wild changes of direction that the stories have lost meaning. It used to be that the more simplified version of these symbiotes felt meaningful when they were on page. It was a real treat. They were uber-powerful, extremely deadly, and completely alien feeling. Now? They're rubbish. They're all over the place. Everyone has a symbiote. And the value of their powers means nothing. Too many pointless changes of direction in story with zero real shock value and no gravitas is really dissappointing. All this king in black stuff, the way these stories have been told, the ridiculous powers and throwing characters around in circles aimlessly has diluted the power of both the Venom and Carnage characters in the marvel universe. There was once a story back in the 90's of Venom infiltrating Iron Man's Stark building simply to warn him not to mistreat innocents. It was a cameo. He did nothing but appear and show himself for a simple piece of dialogue. The damn feeling of it was memorable and an immense moment. What about Lethal Protector when Venom just protected homeless people from a mining machine? It was meaningful and gave the character meaning. Now? These symbiotes have wings and zig zags on their faces, turn into cats and duplicate themselves to kingdom come. There are millions of them and Venom is pretty much himself simply a trope and no longer a real character. Also how has Eddie Brock turned into an old man and Peter Parker doesn't age? They have mismanaged him. Rubbish.

I'm feeling fatigue again. We're at that point again when the writes feel the need to take the main continuity characters and go too fucking bonkers with them. I enjoyed the King in Black arc because it consisted of a new villain with Knull, even if it's an all powerful god. That way, they can come up with an extinction even level arc, to beat him, and put him on ice, wait a few years until they can figure out another good enough story that makes enough sense within the context of its own universe without breaking it. But with making Eddie a literal god, it opened a new can of a shit-fuckery that twists everything inside out and dials it up to bonkers times two. Case and point, they couldn't just de-power god Venom for some reason, they had to make god Carnage, because why not? I mean this is the high on coke and energy drink territory of writing for me. It literally took every single Avenger and then some to beat Knull. Now they made Carnage stronger than he was, that literally has the mind of the worst psychopath in the Marvel Universe. So they either do another extinction level event in the main continuity, which again becomes very tiresome if they do them to often, or it becomes this mediocre B grade story that only serves the purpose of fan-service for the sake of they've run out of ideas for good stories. How many more god power leveled characters can they add before they realize it has lost all flavor and now they need to start making One Above All Spider-man, and One Above All Iron-man, until inevitably they'll need a Beyond Above All Captain America to reset reality outside the comics itself? Multiverse is a front for shitty lazy writing has been a running joke for a while now, but we are at that point where it's no longer a joke. It's a fact.
