In my opinion, THIS movie had the most generational trauma than any other horror movie in history. So many fears that people have in life is due to this movie. The Truck... The water bottles Garbage disposals Barbed wire fences PVC pipe that is cracked Elevator doors

I was actually devastated when Clear died. 🥺 But the novelization of the movie states that Clear actually feels a strange sort of relief as she dies. She's lived the past year in constant terror and paranoia. Her last thoughts are at least the fear and fighting is over. Pretty interesting. She wasn't really living being locked up and afraid anyway. I was still sad to see her go. 🙁

It also changed the dynamic of any future movie, in which we know the hero never dies. With Clear being dead, nobody is safe and keeps the audience guessing.

@IDrinkWeedАй бұрын
There’s a bunch of foreshadowing before his death. There’s a lot of focus of “luck” in this movie, Evan being the lucky lottery winner. The pileup of cars in the hallway near the eyeless baby doll, the cooking oil he used had a black cat on it, his horse shoe ring, there’s a car in a different room of his apartment that looks just like his and it’s facing a demonic statue, the brand of chicken strips he was making was in reference to a fire. There’s a lot for one character 😭

Actually the water bottle is very realistic! One day I was driving and I had a water bottle on in the car. The next thing I know, something fell in the car and I went to pick it up but now the water bottle went missing. When I tried to brake. I notice the car wasn’t coming to a full stop and I had to exert much more force. Then it happened again and I thought something was wrong with my car. I come to find out that the WATER BOTTLE was lodge directly behind the brake! Just like this movie. It was truly a nightmare come to life lol. Never again

This movie is responsible on why so many people don’t drive behind log trucks and even I myself avoid them every time I see one. This movie is a great sequel better than the original especially in the kills. Pretty sad our lovely survivor died she was being smart and was living up until these newbies came into her life. The fact they killed off our mc from the last movie offscreen as well is so disrespectful but death pretty much wins.

@Hey_Jamie6 ай бұрын
No, it isn’t. This movie didn’t trigger common sense in people. Common sense is why you don’t. You watching this as a child having no sense of driving safety and realizing that doesn’t make it responsible for why most people know better.
@-M0LE6 ай бұрын
As someone from the UK I'm happy to say we don't have log trucks never seen any because we don't chop down lots of nature
@KIll74N6 ай бұрын
@@Hey_JamieIt really wasn't common sense. Before this movie, many people expected log trucks to have secure logs (obviously, thats how theyre meant to be) and never thought much of it, but after this movie the log truck scene is always at the back of everyone's minds. So even on a busy motorway where you have no choice but to drive behind one, everyone still stays a good 30 ft behind, try to switch to the farthest lane, or just exit the motorway altogether 😭😭😭. Another example is the vaccum kill, is it mildly unreasonable and paranoid? Yes, but I know so many people who are now hypervigilant when using vaccums and pretty much anything else because of these movies.

As Bob as my witness, it's those trucks that carry gravel that are scarier than the log trucks. All it takes is one flying pebble to set you back a couple hundred for a new windshield 😭

This reminds me of the time I found Wikipedia's article "List of Unusual Deaths". The early ones were macabre fun - Greek philosophers laughing themselves to death and stuff - but then we got to the modern freak accidents and it left me with a fear of basically everything

My personal theory to why the "rules" & "justification" for Death doing this changes all the time between movies is because it's not about fixing some grand design. It's a game where they change up the rules & strategy every time. Let's say there are two entities. One is the God of Life, the other the God of Death. Much like God & Lucifer's bet on Job to play with Job's faithfulness, they play a game to play with Humanity's desire to survive. Death creates a significant scenario that would warrant a decent amount of people to die (plane crash, highway pileup, rollercoaster derailing, racetrack crash, bridge collapse, etc.). Then Life picks who will be the final victim (the Prophet), and allows them the chance to see exactly how they will all die and what order (also sends them hints prior, explaining Alex & Kimberly's room full of foreshoadowing). Death gets a point for every time he takes a life (with extra points if the death gets more nonsensical), Life gets a point for every person skipped in the order. Life is allowed to send visions and clues to the Prophet, and the game goes until all the people are dead. Sometimes they start new games while still playing old ones (which explains how Alex & Clear's deaths overlap with the Route 23 game), Death tried to cheat sometimes: with the bathtub death (hence cleaning up the puddle so Alex would believe it could be possible Tod did kill himself), and another one I don't wanna bring up cause Alanda hasn't seen FD4. Sometimes they change the order to shake things up. William Bludworth has been confirmed to not be Death incarnate, so my theory is that he's actually Life instead. Life doesn't have to be a good being, cause well......life sucks. Life takes the form of a coroner or mortician because he finds the irony hilarious.

@rodgill93766 ай бұрын
What's crazy about these movies is that the characters are all interlinked with each other in some way or another. Which again points to the themes of the series. Every action or inaction. It doesn't matter what you do. In the end, they're still going to die. For example, had Billy not died, Officer Burke would had died in his place. Or Kat being on the very bus that ran over Terry. Had Kimberly not seen the news about Tod's death, she would had died instead of her mother. Its really messed up when you think about it!

I think my favorite part about this movie is them going the extra mile to use practical effects as much as they could. Almost all of the pile-up scene in the beginning is done practically. They literally closed off a highway and flipped cars around with real drivers inside, and had actual controlled explosions. Almost all the deaths were done practically with the actors, or practically and then layered shots together.

I'm gonna say it, this one probably has the best characters out of all the FD movies. The first film had a solid cast but I feel like we hardly got to see them interact as a group, and the characters in the later films were just 1-D insufferable assholes most of the time. I love the fact in this movie we get to see these complete strangers forced into a situation where they have to mingle and learn to tolerate each other even though their personalities are so different from each other. Also justice for the high camp cigarette smoking professional, she deserved better than a pipe through the head

Finally getting back to Final Destination!! I hope you see the rest. Of course you can skip Final Destination 4 but 3 & 5 are pretty good. Fun facts: • The Accident on the highway was based on a real Pile Up that happened on Interstate 75 in Ringgold,GA on March 14th, 2002 with a total of 125 car piled up. • Originally, Devon Sawa was to reprise his role of Alex Browning in this film, but a dispute concerning his contract with New Line Cinema could not be settled. So the had to write him off. • Originally they had use real logs for the opening catastrophe, but they didn’t bounce enough for that scare effect, so they used CGI logs. • The car Evan drives is A 1987 Pontiac FireBird (ironic ain’t it?) • They were gonna have him die from a flesh eating bacteria but went with the brick instead. • When Nora tucks Tim in at night, dimming the lights, his face is illuminated with a skull outline, foreshadowing his death. • There is a myth that when a bird hits your window, somebody you know is going to die. • Nora's death is based on a real life incident: Dr. Hitoshi Nikaidoh, a surgical resident at a Houston hospital, was decapitated by a malfunctioning elevator in 2002. The doctor's shoulders were pinned by the doors, which then allowed the ceiling to slice off most of his head as the elevator continued to move upwards. • When Eugene tried to commit suicide with a gun, the gun had six bullets in it, which marked him as the sixth survivor to die. • According to the book, the fire that kills Clear and Eugene was originally started by a birthday cake.

I understand James Wong directed Final Destination 1 and the late David R. Ellis directed Final Destination 2. One mistake that always bothered me in 2 is when Michael Landes is looking at the photos before coming across the fate of Devon Sawa's character. Look at the image of Chad Donella (Tod from FD 1) and how it's labeled ''before the coroner arrived.'' His hands are grasping at the wire. At the moment of his demise in FD 1, his arms go limp by their respective sides. So, the photo is inaccurate. Would also dispute the argument how Tod was wracked with guilt as his father insisted.
