I'm sure that during 1991, some death-metal drummers have abandonned their instrument after listening to the "Human" album... this drumming was so inventive and intense...
@MsYablonsky4 жыл бұрын
I think the opposite might be true: many drummers might have started playing drums because they felt inspired by Sean
@jagzin61474 жыл бұрын
I’m sure Sean would’ve hated the thought that his drumming made someone else stop playing
@paulstoliker33033 жыл бұрын
But I know he would just blush fiercely to watch g. Hoglan & t. Haake gush about how 19 yr old Sean changed everything for them & inspired them to study & improve after seeing what he did on Human & Cynic's Focus. Hell, he'd be embarrassed that they made a tribute album abt him after he died.
@yourmomsdaddy91303 жыл бұрын
I was 19 when Human came out, and a struggling metal drummer, and while I was good, I wasn't the drummer Sean was, he was brilliant! I think you were probably joking saying he made drummers quit, he inspired me to become better, he showed what was possible, and though it was overwhelming to someone at my skill level it was a goal to strive towards.

To think he was only 19 when he recorded Human and have that level of drumming is something else. I've listened to a lot of rock, metal and even a few electronic bands and no other drummer I've seen I personally think has the same balance of creativity, diversity, aggression and overall technical ability. Chuck may have unfortunately passed away too soon but I'm so happy guys like Steve, Gene. Sean, Richard, Paul among others can still make awesome material.

Definitely belongs in the discussion, but the second I think about the names "Gene Hoglan" and "Pete Sandoval"... slipping him into the top 5 might be a task. That said... he is a beast, although I like his stuff with Cynic so much better.
@jonnyj.3 жыл бұрын
@@toddwilliams8128 Um... he is greater than both of them in technique and feel. It all comes down to personal preference in the end, but its telling when people like gene say its EXTREMELY hard to cover sean's songs correctly. He is objectively one of the greatest of all time.

With all the exceptional musicians passing on much too early, Sean Reinerts death was the one the struck me hardest ... loved and adored all his work. With Death, Cynic an Aeon Spoke .... a real tragedy.
@ohgoditsjames9412 жыл бұрын
I think Sean was certainly my most favourite drummer in Death, I really wish he had done Individual Thought patterns, Symbolic and especially Sound of Perseverance, No dis-respect to Gene, or Richard, but this is insane, at 20-21 years old as well? What a beast. Individual Thought Patterns, Symbolic and Sound of Perseverance would of been even better with this kind of technicality, especially considering that Sean would be gotten EVEN better, he really is awesome with his jazz.

@@vitunpelle602 I'd find it harder playing tight if I didn't hit the kick drum hard tbh

the trigger is effectively an electronic switch which "triggers" either a sample of a bass drum or some sort of electronic sound. either way, the sound usually sounds little like an actual bass drum, especially when the trigger sets off EXACTLY the same sound every time. i undertsnad the benefits, clarity-wise, but its definitely second best to a proper bass drum imo.
