Jin Roh really is one of those movies that you need to sit down analyse like an english teacher. The connection between the wolf and the warrior, the woman as a civiliser of enkidu, and the warrior cult of mythology. It really just refines the traditional archetypes of literature. It's a modern day epic of gilgamesh. And this edit really just sends it over the top, boiling it down to its few key components.

But a group called "the Sect" is staging demonstrations and challenging the government's martial law. Constable Fuse of the Capital Police's Special Unit is on a mission to stop a Sect demonstration when he encounters a girl in the sewers under Tokyo. When he fails to shoot as ordered, he is put on trial, questioned, and "re-conditioned" as a soldier. But the dead girl haunts him, both in his dreams and in the face of her sister, whom Fuse has befriended. But Fuse has made himself a target for some very powerful men... @CThyran5 жыл бұрын
@RoMMeL1337ak47 The movie was trying to be grey, but with most that try that one party's actions are always more noble and just than the other so it falls flat on it's face. Watchman and Rorsach is a good example of this, he wanted to punish criminals and degenerate murders, rapists, pedos etc while exposing the truth and bringing justice to the world while all the other characters wanted to nuke cities for the "greater good" of not causing a nuclear war despite peace talks already having been a thing.
@CThyran5 жыл бұрын
@RoMMeL1337ak47 From what I've gathered him becoming a wolf per say is more of a reference to him apparently losing his humanity or some such nonsense. I would think it's rather obvious just by taking a quick look at human history or that of any animal on this rock that violence is the only way to survival and domination. Which is to say that violence is in our very nature and that to kill is in our very instincts regardless of what pampered civilization and bring told the opposite from cradle to grave would have one believe.

That feeling you get when you finally get that full auto, gas-powered airsoft gun and go hunting for that kid that shot you in the face last round 3:55

I love this so much, there's something special about adding darksynth to Jin-Roh that I can't really explain It just fits the visual masterpiece that is the movie so well And boi that cut at 3:45 is so damn beautiful, Hiroyuki Okiura and the rest of the animators really did something special with this movie

Think my comment was deleted for some reason... This music has a wonderful sense of impending doom/terror, mixed with the visual delight that is Jin Roh, and it's just amazing. I've seen Jin Roh like 7 times, and I still love it.

You has created an actual masterpiece, I can see this used in trailers in the future.
@arifcso66332 жыл бұрын
But the edits literally shorten the story you can even read the story just by watching this edits Pretty sure trailer just shows what the movie is going to be about and not spoil all story there and this is a very great edit

The moment you see the panzer cop hit with a grenade and shrugs it off and all u can see are his glowing eyes as he slowly walks away from the smoke accompanied by the perfect music and change of melody

2:35 - 3:50 makes a far better trailer for a much better movie than anything coming out of hollywood recently. That's a low bar, I know. Still, great edit.

0:01-0:33 "War, war never changes..." Seriously! From the ominous music, the black and white stills, not to mention the atomic mushroom cloud, this really makes me think of Fallout.
