Jin Roh really is one of those movies that you need to sit down analyse like an english teacher. The connection between the wolf and the warrior, the woman as a civiliser of enkidu, and the warrior cult of mythology. It really just refines the traditional archetypes of literature. It's a modern day epic of gilgamesh. And this edit really just sends it over the top, boiling it down to its few key components.

Watchman and Rorsach is a good example of this, he wanted to punish criminals and degenerate murders, rapists, pedos etc while exposing the truth and bringing justice to the world while all the other characters wanted to nuke cities for the "greater good" of not causing a nuclear war despite peace talks already having been a thing.

The thing is there is no evil empire in Jin-Roh. The victorious Germany is a democracy and so is Japan. In fact, Kerberos Saga is a series warning about the danger of extremism. Both sides, the Rebels in the sewers and the soldiers are extremists. The rebels are left wing pro-communists and the soldiers are right wing pro-imperial fascists. Meanwhile the democratic japanese government tries to play both sides against each other and to maintain control.
