18:33 it's the literal reverse of David Cage who has been reined in a bit with every game. The more popularity Kojima has the more he's been released.

This game has been the exact fascinating reaction i thought would be. Not just basically polarizing but you have people terrified not liking it will have them witch hunted online, others that don't appear to like it but "this is kojimas owed oscar moment" and so on. Personally i'm a huge fan of most of his work, even Boktai, but it just looks kind of boring and honestly makes me think those rumours of Metal Gear Survive -along with Kojimas "i want to make the zombie game" tweets during MGSV's development - suggest this is based on an idea for an alternate mode Kojima was already working on hastily reworked into something else. I hope i like it and the setting looks really interesting but i am just so tired of the 'you can go anywhere' sandbox meme and want the gameplay to immerse me. I just don't know if it will.

I remember Shadow of the Colossus ps2 reviews. Critics were not ready back then. They argued that game lacks of story, dialogues, cutscenes, that gameplay is repetitive etc. I think it is the same here.

I respect people who disrespect people worth disrespecting. There are certain people out there that carry a mix of hubris, confidence and stupidity that have earned disrespect. If you disrespect them it means that your mother raised you right. Kojima fans are stupid people that want very desperately to believe that they're smart. It's not evil or anything but it is quite pathetic.

Literally everyone had the high dooms thing no matter the birthday it seems lol...and why does he keep fighting Madds in war zones? Like he’s in a different world of his own..is that madds’ own beach? Or is it like he’s fighting him in a dream? Because he always wakes up in his room all startled as if he woke up from a nightmare..my bro says diehard man brings him back..but so he does this every time?? And how does he keep finding him lol..idk a lot of things don’t make much sense

@@zubiecup So the fact multiple game reviewers are saying things like "Hi, I reviewed Death Stranding. I really wanted to like Death Stranding. Death Stranding would not let me like Death Stranding." the same guy also said "there are pieces I like (the quiet moments of walking around, the online infrastructure building), but they’re not nearly enough. this is a game I can only recommend to people I want to talk to about the game. it’s useful as an object to dissect, and not a whole lot else, imo." These guys have just done an hour of talking and not once did anyone of them seem excited about anything that happened, besides the story of the truck that just made it to a generator. Jeff said "I think some conversations I’ve had about Death Stranding’s late game story and dialogue have moved me from “maybe I’ll eventually see this through” to “maybe I’ll just uninstall this and never look back.”" If you guys wanna wander round a desolate space delivering packages to characterless hubs, with a couple of improvements to dark souls mechanics, then go ahead but this game is being reviewed as VERY meh. From my perspective, this game is a foundation to bigger and better games, in 10 years Hideo will release a game with this core concept but will have interesting things to do, like if you put Rage 1/mad max on top of this game. A delivery boy fighting of wild gangs to get to his delivery point, working with other delivery boys to deliver goods and keep gangs at bay ... sure but as it stands it sounds more like a tech demo

Wow, Kojima has just as die hard supporters as Trump. Calm the fuck down guys, it's just 3 guys' opinion. Kojima is human guys. He also didn't invent ever mechanic in the MGS series. It was a collaboration. Now you guys think DS was made solely by Kojima...Kojima isn't the entire reason why DS failed, and he isn't the entire reason why MGS was such a fun game play.

Man I love y’all and your honesty but I’ve seen a lot of elements that makes this game look really cool in a “you’re playing an artsy sci-fi movie” sort of way. Even the quick look seemed interesting from what you guys showed off. Not sure where the hardcore negativity is coming from. I’d be interested to hear some opinions from these people on some of the more obscure movies and games I think Kojima seems to be pulling from. Anyway great in depth discussion as usual, even if negative.

I haven't played it myself but I'm guessing it's problems that compound themselves with time. From everything I've heard described about this game the core gameplay loop doesn't seem to be engaging enough to withstand the length of the campaign, and the story elements don't seem to pick up the slack. Several people have said most of the systems are very simple, and the novelty wears out quick. On paper it seems like a logical result. Here's a game where you spend ages just walking from A to B in barren landscapes, over and over, all the while managing cumbersome maintenance systems. People say the game becomes the most fun when you unlock road building tools and vehicles, and that seems to make perfect sense too. Nothing about the negative criticism has struck me as too surprising.
@304Blaise5 жыл бұрын
Kuroonehalf it’s interesting to me that a lot of game critics say the story is uninteresting but the many film critics who have reviewed this game say it’s awesome. In this case I gotta say I trust them.... metal gear was at its best when it was a surreal experience in my opinion. Very interested to try this game out when I pick it up tomorrow. Then again, I’m the guy who thinks the best part of RDR2 was just the riding around and sim elements. The gunfights felt like more of a slog than any other element (as I feel about most rockstar games)
