Mads ! you bring tears to my eyes looking for some of this landscapes and thinking how beautiful the world is and how magical is some of your skills to capture it in the most brilliant way. Thanks so much to share this kind of experience. I'm more video related, than photography, and I'm curious to know how you make all this car hood shots so stable. I'll be amazed to know how that mountains on background stay so stable on shots.
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Tadeu! I'm so happy to hear that :) In regard to the car hood it's actually very simple. I mount my GoPro on the hood, start recording (movie) and just drive. In post processing I just speed up the clip and add the warp stabilizer effect in Premiere Pro :)
@tadeuprimo7 жыл бұрын
I imagined that it was warp stabilizer from Premiere Pro, but your results are a lot better. Anyway, thanks so much for this reply !

I guess I can think of some reasons unfortunately... Some people don't think that it's fair that people make composite images or blend things without giving away their workflow when they post on social media. People think it's dishonest and don't like it.

Greetings, I have a question. Around January, where does the sun rise at Zabriskie Point? I am thinking it rises a bit to the south of the most pointed mountain (you framed it dead center at 9:20 in your video) while you stand at the very end of the overlook; so if you are using a slightly wide angle (45mm lens for a 50mm camera) you are going to have the sun in your frame. From the look at your picture at 9:20 the sun is quite a bit off to the south. Did you take this picture in late April or so?? (I will be traveling up from central Mexico to get a photo, so I want to make sure I get an optimum side light. Also, I am not interested in capturing a sunrise, or sunset, just an optimum side light. I use ultra large format, and these cameras are terrible for early mornings and late evenings). Thanks!

@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Makes total sense. No I normally don't since it can seem a bit unnecessary and something you'll have to decide yourself when you're there :) But in the case of Death Valley it was four days (three sunsets and sunrises).

Hi Mads, these are amazing photos and great video you have made. One question, I have an opportunity to be there for maybe just half of a day. I will be in a conference in Nov and can only drive there for few hours. Can you help narrow 2-3 places that I can shoot landscape photos. It seems to me the sand dunes are the place you would recommend for sunset photos, right? also, if I go there in mid Nov, when is a time to shoot milky way?

Great video Mads! I am heading to DVNP at the end of January, and your tips will really help. One question, though... When out exploring the dunes or, say, Badwater basin - particularly at night - did you feel the need to carry a GPS in order to find your way out? Or is it pretty easy to keep your bearings without? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.
