Fun to see Lake Manly full. It was full of ice last time I was there with you.

Yeah! And we just got back from a group trip over the weekend. Sandra and I were reminiscing of last year and all the singing in the abandoned cabin and finishing that bottle of Vodka! Good times!!

I was there last week. I did not understand the permit/pass thing, I didn't bother. The storms have really tore up Death Valley, but the lake was cool

Cooking in the rear hatch when it's windy works every time! Stanley and I went up the waterfalls at Natural Bridge and found another offshoot in the same canyon with more places to climb. I definitely want to come back with some gloves! That's a super cool tripod setup you have. Definitely want to see it sometime!

There’s all sorts of hikes I just learned about, like Side Winder Canyon. Maybe I’ll explore in the fall, it’s time to focus my time making use of my $800 IKON pass

Do you think you can use that alkaline water, dry it out over a napkin and collect table salt?

Hey Jon when you go with a different tire size like a 265/60/18 can you recalibrate the speedo or are you just using GPS on your phone to figure out the difference? Thanks.
@JonDZ_Adventuring7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a way to recalibrate the odometer / speedometer. When I go 65 mph, I’m really going 70mph. I also have a digital rear view mirror with GPS speed, so this is another way I can confirm my speed.

The lake is less than a foot deep, or just a few inches deep?
@JonDZ_Adventuring7 ай бұрын
The walkway is inches, the lake is almost a foot

Thanks for the info. I actually was actually interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, check out the article here: www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-03-06/national-park-service-closes-lake-manly-to-further-boating It talks about how the strong winds pushed the lake 2 miles, which affected the lakes depth

143K miles on the odometer, not counting going from stock 29.6” to 32.6” tires. This has been a very reliable and easy to own vehicle.
