It's dead on for me to 60 or 70 yards, but with my current setup I'd have to say 40 yards is my effective range limit. The value of this scope lies in exact yardages, like 32 or 27 etc., for perfect accuracy, NOT just in long distances, in my opinion...

I CANT AFFORD TO KEEP LOOSING MY ARROWS PLEASE HELP!!!!
@Deathbybunjie Жыл бұрын
Something sounds off to me but what I would do is move the dot for sr1 up the 8 in or so and then shoot again and see if it's accurate, and continue to adjust it until it is. Then save it and move on to sr2. Maybe move it up to 32 yards or so instead of 38 so there isn't as much difference. I hope that helps! The other thing you can do is stack Targets on top of each other, and aim at the center of the two Targets if you're not sure where it's going to go, I had to do that with my old slow crossbow because it was shooting way low at 30.

Just purchased this scope. Quick question..when you shot high and right at 40yds. I noticed you hit top arrow button to move red dot up. What about the windage since you shot right? I’m a little confused at this stage of truing. One would think that Burris would put out an in-depth video. Your video is much better. Thanks!
@Deathbybunjie Жыл бұрын
The windage can be adjusted at 20 yards. If you see that it is off at longer distances, then a slight adjustment to bring it back to Center is all you will need. You'll be using the physical windage adjustment, just like you did at the beginning, there's nothing digital about the windage. Does that help I hope?
@PandY7190 Жыл бұрын
@@Deathbybunjie thank you this helps
@jeffsalsieder640 Жыл бұрын
@@Deathbybunjie I just ordered one. Regarding windage: My strategy will be to zero in at 20 yards as normal, but then I will walk it back to further distances to make sure windage is still accurate further out, adjusting as necessary. As we know a windage error at 20 may be insignificant but at 60 it may become a problem. Once I am confident that windage is on, only then will I go through the truing process. I am curious to see how well the scope works at shorter distances with a sharp angle, say 20 feet up a tree and a deer 12 yards from the base of the tree. Thanks for the video - Great Job!
@Deathbybunjie Жыл бұрын
@@jeffsalsieder640 that's not a bad plan, but I think if you are off at 60 just give it a click in the right direction and you should be fine. Either way works I'm sure. I think you will find it works great on angles.

New to the Oracle X, and trying to figure out the sight-in steps. Several things the manual does not cover, one being the actual distance settings. I read to shoot at 30 yds, 45, 60, etc, but not clear how those distances are entered into the scope for the 4 options. I want my crossbow calibrated for 30, 40 and 50 yds. Max I can shoot at where I hunt is 50 yds, rarely a 60 yd shot. Also, I don't have anywhere to shoot at 60 yds, where I sight it in has a max of 50 yds. Does the scope automatically put the distances in based on the distance it reads at the time of the shot, or do you enter those distances somewhere else in the software?
@DeathbybunjieАй бұрын
After you get 20 perfect, then you use the rangefinder button on top of the scope too true it at two or three distances past 30 yards. I suggest in your circumstances something like 32 yd, 40 yards and 50 yards. The scope figures out every distance in between based on some algorithm. You can probably get away with just 32 yd and 50 yd
@jeffsalsieder640 Жыл бұрын
Rich, I am curious that at about 3:40 in the video you said you had it set for 30, 42, 60 and 72 but later you shot at 40. Why the difference? I just got mine at sighted in at 20 and verified windage is accurate to 60. I will go through truing process next time I get out there. My understanding is that when you do a Sight Range (SR) you will set the target up at , say 40 yards, but if the range finder on the Oracle X finds it at 42, then the 42 will incorporated into the computer ballistics table. I noticed this because I used another range finder to get my 20 yard line (done previously) but then found the Oracle had it at 19, so I moved back a couple of feet until the scope read 20, then did sighting in.
@Deathbybunjie Жыл бұрын
It was originally sighted in for 30, 42, 60, and 72 before I shot this video. When I shot this video I was playing around and that second target just happened to be at 40 so I shot at that. It really doesn't matter...the scope figures out the arc. I don't need to set the targets out of specific ranges as long as they're over 30 yards of spread out pretty good. I hope that makes sense.

You can say two different Arrow setups. Under the menu choose bolt one or Bolt 2. Remember, though, when you switch from one Arrow setup to another you have to go back and change the 20 yard set up, so it almost doesn't seem worth it because that's such a pain.

I have gotten mine shooting 2" groups at 70 yds. I am using the arrows that came with the bow. I did swap the nocks for lighted ones and put in heavier inserts. The arrow weight is up about 80 grains over stock. I added the weight in hopes of adding some life to the crossbow limbs. I put a couple hundred shots through it so far with no issues and highly recommend it! Looking forward to putting some meat in the freezer with it in another month or so!

@Deathbybunjie Жыл бұрын
I think it makes sense haha and it's hard to express it so I get what you mean. I think to answer your question, I put the center cross hairs on the deer and then push the remote button. That activates the rangefinder, which instantly puts a Red Dot on the vertical line on the scope, which means that I then move the crossbow up or down so that the dot is lined up with my preferred point of impact. When I pull the trigger, the arrow should hit wherever that red dot was. I think it's important to mention that the Red Dot is only in the scope and it doesn't project a red dot onto the deer or anything like that. I hope that helps!
