Thanks Professor. I use 48w fluorescents for clones. LED can be too harsh for new clones. I put the clone dome about an inch from the light. Keeps things warm, clones love it.
@DeBaccoUniversity2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing, the LED light can work it you can increase the spacing between it and the clones.

Exactly, I use led 8w 5000k 800 lumens about 4 inches away

Thanks professor. Have you done a video on hops latent viroid yet? What it is, how it spreads, 10% bleach cleaning procedures, etc.

In short, no. The student series has been getting the recent priority but thanks for the reminder.

I clone in the house where you usually put plants to get sun in or by a window that has shade with a plastic bag to create the humidity needed to root. Also one root starter is kelp/seaweed that works well for me💯%

I grew 8 inch clones in a empty fish tank (red solo cups), held about 10 cuttings, I used a 800 lumen 5000k light bulb on each side of the tank. Spray the inside with water and put the lid on cracked about a inch to get 80 to 90 percent humidity. It works flawlessly. 2 weeks full roots. If u take the cutting just below the node, 45 degree angle, with a razor blade and leave 3 leaves uncut on the cutting, clonex optional.

Humm gonna have to find a light like that, I have a small t 5 single bulb for seedlings works great, but I am starting clones and just letting mother nature take its way for now in CNY mid August so I have time. #KieraRocStar

Simple and effective so you should have no problem finding this light or one very similar.

Good point, just be cautious of open fixtures in a high humidity environment.

The biggest issue I've had with hydroponic cloners like the EZ- CLONER is keeping the unit clean!! After every cycle you have to clean and sterilize it thoroughly!!! I had a few failed attempts at cloning and I believe it was from bad bacteria being present inside the cloner. Most likely from old roots stuck inside the sprayers or dirty foam collars, so it's very important to remove sprayers to make sure there is nothing left over from the previous cycle. I also have had better luck not using any nutrients especially in the first week or so. I'll usually wait until I see some callous tissue forming before I'll add any nutes. I also like to use a reservoir sterilizer like ez-cloner clear rez or equivalent during the rooting process.
