Yeah, my Oma drove until she was about 90 years old. She would even wash and vacuum her own car and you know how that is when you’re Dutch. Everything had to be spotless especially for Sunday going to church. All the best in the new year Rich. 👍🏻

Surprised that vacuum works as well as it does, the longer the hose the harder it is for a vacuum to suck anything up.
@DEBOSSGARAGEАй бұрын
I mentioned in another comment that a shorter hose would increase the suction proportionally

I've been really liking my Milwaukee cordless shop vac for vehicle stuff. Just too easy.
@joekennedy8411Ай бұрын
Why not add an air fitting after the water connection, then mid winter when you really need to use it it’s available but you can also purge any water from the lines.
@om617yota7Ай бұрын
Great setup, especially for the salt belt folks. I put all my external faucets on their own water line and plumbed in an air fitting and appropriate valves. Takes 3 minutes to winterize my external faucets, it's great.

Good call. Symmetrical on both sides is superior to just one side.
@minnesotatomcatАй бұрын
It’s funny they didn’t make the mounts wide enough for standard stud spacing. Looks like decent quality products though. Does the vacuum have the equivalent suction of a good shop-vac?
@DEBOSSGARAGEАй бұрын
Its decent. I think it would be stronger with a shorter hose. That's the tradeoff

You need concrete right in front of the garage so you are not driving on dirt. When you pressure wash your vehicles you are not dragging in the dirt on the garage floor

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Rich and family and all who took part in the Africa scramble! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole series! Shame you had to take them back to Canada, simple stop off in UK to deliver one 40 miles from Southampton, was all it required.Never mind, still love the Landys will always have a space in my heart for them. .Love the simplicity of fixing both the vac and washer. If I had a garage, I'd have one of each! Thanks Rich for all you do, can't wait to see more of the Edison Builds. From UK.

The pressure washer is convenient, but that vacuum would be a game changer for my shop. At 26x24, I could clean my shop or anything in the driveway if I installed it right. Neat!

Hot water is the way to go,. I love my Kärcher 698c, worked like it should for ~15 years and spare parts are available everywhere they sell Kärcher products if you f-up. 20m/66ft pressure house and up to 150°C/300°F water out of it kills everything you want! But I guess you got them items for free so you are stuck with them for a wile ;)

Can of Rustoleum oil based paint, Harbor Freight brushes/microfiber roller, blaster surface shield. Thats all my 2001 ram gets to keep going in NY. Paying somebody to paint a truck that gets used all year is a scam.

You could always droop a small heating blanket over the hose reel in the winter so you don't have to take it off the wall and haul it around.

Milwaukee should make a M12 powered vacuum power-head for shop vacuums! I'm gonna email them now
@throttlebottle5906Ай бұрын
lol, you going to make it hold 10 to 30 m12 batteries to be useful?
@christopherlenahan390629 күн бұрын
@@throttlebottle5906 I think you think that bristles lightly brushing cloth is more Watt-hours then the m12 die grinder with a 2" wire brush obliterating materials off of rough cast iron for 20 minutes. It'll be fine for small jobs, and I would dare say a car's worth of cleaning per battery at least. If I had a 3d printer, I'd make one and start selling them on etsy. I am proficient in AutoCAD inventor. Maybe a month in R&D. $500CAD budget for materials. Drum brush from Amazon - 20-60$ CAD, motor(brushed for simplicity or brushless and controller) and spade terminals for the battery as well. This is a weekend project for a proper engineer. One just needs initiative and means.
@christopherlenahan390629 күн бұрын
@@throttlebottle5906 No..... The Dyson cordless vacuum runs the whole thing on a 5\6-cell pack..I'll expand. The M12 die grinder chews through grime(paint,sealant, etc..) with a 2" wire brush for 20 minutes. This is bristles(a lot of width of them though) lightly brushing cloth. I would expect a similar 20 minute run time from the M12-3.0ah battery in this case. Enough to do a car. And the snark: If I had a 3d printer, I'd start prototyping them, on a $500 materials budget, and sell them on etsy until I had the money to get a mold made in china. While getting a patent. It's a weekend project for a proper engineer and I probably should just buy a 3d printer and start making it...on that note, I'll have another beer instead.

Really want one of these setups but each video I watch the vacuum looks underwhelming. If I'm gonna buy something like this I want the vacuum to do the job quickly. Kind if a shame. Design wise they knocked these out of the park
@throttlebottle5906Ай бұрын
long hoses = reduced volume(+pressure drop) and for vacuum it's a huge killer/friction loss, the higher the vacuum level the worse. you may be better off with an cordless spot vacuum for places you need small pickup with higher velocity/power( not all are that way) or you need to majorly increase hose diameter and interior smoothness.
