Conte has won 5 league titles in the past 11 years, taking over a Juventus that finished 7th, a Chelsea that finished 10th, and an Inter that finished 9th. He's an elite manager. The issue is Tottenham and Daniel Levy.

should he have said it? professionally probably not but he was 100% correct about what he said. I am not a spurs fan but the main issue at the club is not players, a manager, tactics or even transfers. There is a culture of failure that permeates that club from the very top to the very bottom. The simple answer is when all is said and done, it's okay not to win at spurs. I remember Poch saying something like "trophies aren't everything" and there wa a bit of an outcry but that's it, the fans barely batted an eye. The fans are to blame as well, I'm sure individually every spurs fan wants to win but collectively?

Why it took so long for Darren Lewis to be on TV regularly is beyond me. Always wrote the best stuff in the daily mirror 20 years ago. Anyway, situation is simple, and it's what conte is saying, what Jose said, what poch said, what redknapp said, what Jol said, and even what Hoddle said: Daniel Levy signs the players via the sporting director/DoF. The manager has no control. Inevitably the balance falls one way and the manager gets sacked because the squad is not good enough to meet Levys expectations. Every manager under the Enic regime has suffered from the same thing: hit and hope recruitment. I think conte should have been gone weeks ago, but I'm delighted that he has had the chance to say his piece publicly. The hilarious part being that "shrewd businessman" levy has twice painted himself into a corner where it'll cost the club millions to do what comes naturally to him. Spursy shambles again. Now let's have Ryan Mason please.

Sometimes people don’t appreciate what they have, imagine having Pochetino who did really well but you sack him thinking he was not good enough yet its the club that is rotten deep inside just like manchester united. ETH is the Pochetino of Man United, managing to do what he does amidst the politics in club.

People really need to realise that Conte is saying these things because he wants to get sacked, not because he cares about the club. For all the talk of spurs needing to "back" him in the transfer market, he equally must've known that Spurs are not a club that can buy him a squad that can compete with the likes of City in one summer. Besides, they *have* spent quite a lot by their standards, spending around £150 million to bring in Kulusevski, Bentancur, Richarlison, Bissouma etc. You can blame the club for these not working but most people thought Spurs had a good window - the only signing he opposed was Spence, who Spurs signed an expensive replacement for anyway. He's a great manager, but this was a terrible appointment that happened for all the wrong reasons - Spurs were desperate having sacked NES after 6 games, and Conte seemingly just fancying the money. Hence the length of contract. Anyone who saw Spurs go out of the Champions League with no fight at home to Milan will know that this team simply has not been coached to build attacks and sustain pressure. Letting Conte get away with making these excuses about the culture of the club, as if he isn't in a position to change that, paints over the appalling lack of professionalism and respect he shows his club by making these comments.

No I think Conte couldn't handle the frustration Spurs is putting him through but at the same time as a Coach of the club he should be able to change thay instead of complaining

Conte is a winner & he's not come to Spurs to win nothing. The players should look at themselves but they are more interesting in counting thelr wages. The players should think more about the fans as well as the club. They have flattered to deceive this season. The biggest disappointing thing is the way they went out of the FA Cup & the whimpering way they went out of the Champions League. The only shining light is Harry Kane.

He is absolutely right. The players are better than they are showing. If only Spurs employed someone like a Head Coach whose job it would be to get the best out of players, instill a "winning" menality winthin the squad , employ agressive winning strategy and tactics on the pitch, and prepare properly for games. Hang on, isn't HE supposed to be.......

Sincerely apologise for not knowing the name, but the gentleman besides Miguel speaks the truth. Rival fan here and hope Spurs stay at their level, but what Conte said is known by the whole world so shouldn't be shocking. It's only Spurs themselves that fail to acknowledge it properly. I hope they keep being in top mediocre mess haha it's at least fun for us.

The onus is on the players to perform. A manager tries to field the best 11 players he can, more often than not anyways. If he has a dressing room full of losers, and he's sick and tired of receiving the blame for the teams lack of fire - he's well in his rights to defend himself. Enough is enough, right? I fully support someone being open, honest, and passionate. We need more people like him, and not media trained political correctness answers to every question.

When, where and how something is said is important. It reminds me of the Rangnick press conferences for Man Utd last year. It was red meat for the fans and press but it was shocking management. Hard truths need to be told but to throw everyone under the bus publicly while acting like he isn’t a part of the problem is wrong.

Rangnick did it as self preservation after being a puppet. He's also never been a winner. Conte otoh lives for winning

Why don't people get conte..He said he has kept silence for a year now..that's why he called them out publicly..(meaning He was trying to protect the club and the players and it wasn't working)

No idea what a manager of his calibre is doing at such a bang average club like Spurs!!! He tells the truth and everyone is all shocked, yet they accept this level of commitment from well played players week in week out. Only shocking thing is how poor they are at times........

“Give him the expenditure he needs to grow as a team with him” do these pundits know how Conte has managed teams in the past😂😂Conte has got so much backing in the past two windows, what more should the club do? These same pundits and fans were saying Spurs won the window with Bissouma, Richarlson, Perisic, Spence and all of a sudden the narrative has changed
