That Suarez season was something else, probably the best PL season by striker, arguably his or Salah's 32 goals season. Van Persie was special too, so hard, for me its Aguero but thats just personal opinion.

That ending comment from Tom is spot on ... I hate it when debates come in about the best players from the prem and when people say 'how many titles have they won?' It doesn't matter! Are people going to take Haalands accomplishments away from him if City finish second? Plus there have been plenty of world class players who never won a league like Xabi Alonso, Steven Gerrard, Shearer, Fernando Torres, Kane, Matt Le Tissier, Suarez, Zola, Ginola, Gullet ... Same with legends who never won a world cup or a European cup ... Shouldn't matter if the team they played in didn't win anything its more impressive that people recognize them for their individual talent shows they were above and beyond the team they were playing for ... For the past 20+ years unless you played for the invincables, United, Chelsea or City you don't win a league simple as ... Doesn't mean you're not one of the best players in the world

Aguero with the best goal/minute ratio of any player to ever set foot in the prem yet not getting a singular mention is a testament to the lack of ball knowledge on this account. And even if you dont want to go off of stats, and are one of those people who argues that there is more to a striker than goals, he was also undeniably (apart from thierry henry) the best build up striker to ever grace the prem. ridiculous

Suarez in that season had 31 goals an like 13 assists, thats mental, but whats even more impressive is that he was banned for 5 games as well, so he would have more g/a, and the most impressive part is that he wasnt on the pens cause Gerrard was, and liverpool had 9 pens that season i think, its just the best individual season in pl history, they would have got the title as well if it wasnt for the ban

Not saying Shearer didn't have opportunities, but he didn't take them did he? As far as trophies goes. Henry literally won every trophy that exists on a team level...World Cup, Euro, Prem, Champs League, FA Cup, Serie A, La Liga...that alone is more than six, so I'm not sure what you are on about.

aguero played in the prem for 3x as long as him yet still had a far better goal/minute ratio than him. the difference is that aguero's contribution was not only better in front of goal, but his build up play was ridiculously good. The correct order should be 1. Aguero 2. Henry 3. Kane 4. Rooney 5. Shearer 6. Suarez. Haaland may go on to top them all but even as a city fan its far too early to include him in this debate, despite the fact he will easily break the record this season.

The problem with a lot of these is that everyone is answering a different question. Who is the best striker to play in the premier league? Probably Suarez from that list, because his overall career was incredible. But who was the best premier league striker? That has to take longevity into account in my opinion, so you've got to be talking Henry, Shearer, Rooney etc at that point.
