I can’t tell you how horrible it makes me feel to know that people will do that to such honest, hard working people like yourself. On the flip side, the mirror is stunning!! So, if it makes you feel any better, I had a very similar experience on Extreme Makeover. I was part of a few artists who painted murals for a little boy who had cancer and his sister. They filmed a bunch of segments, including interviews and a bit where they made it look like the hosts had helped us paint(🤫😆), and even had a time-lapse camera in the main room I worked on. We all sat down for the watch party and the only thing they showed of the murals were split second scans of the rooms. We we like, "What was THAT!?" In the end, it really wasn't about our 15 seconds of fame, it was about the amazing rooms we create for these wonderful kids who I know enjoyed them for years to come! It was an amazing learning experience and I wouldn't trade it for the world! I am sure your family loved your work as well and knew you created it and that's the most important part of all, right?😃

My Mom and I watched this video two days ago and she's still talking about it. She said she couldn't sleep that night thinking about how they had done you wrong over that whole thing. It just makes me wonder about all the other episodes and people being rushed to produce a spectacular work and were they small businesses also led to believe they would get some exposure for their business/art? It's a shame artists always have to be on the lookout for people trying to take advantage of them. Still, I have no doubt all things good come to us in divine timing when we are in a place to truly appreciate it.
