Most of your videos are oriented towards bank fishing. Many bass you catch are typical for ponds and small lakes. Numerous lure sizes are designed for pond fishing. It would be interesting to see how they compare to using typical bass tackle. Many small ponds and streams require smaller baits because bass feed on smaller abundant prey. I would not call it ultralight fishing it is more like bass finesse fishing. Most lures are 1/4 to 1/8-ounce and just smaller versions of bass lures suited for ponds and lakes. You can cast them on suitable baitcasters and spinning gear. It might be fun to try; it could add helpful information for bank anglers. Ned rigs and drop shotting excluded. I am talking about lures you like using just smaller ones.
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that sounds fun. What type of lures are you thinking?
@gizmocarr30935 жыл бұрын
@@DEBOSFishing If you have casting or spinning rods rated for 6 to 12-pound line, they are perfect for Bass finesse fishing. The casting reels you tuned with high-speed bearing will work best for casting small lures. If you reduce the line on the reel spool, they will cast light lures better. Reduce the line to half and add 50 to 60-yards of light line. The lighter the spool weighs the better they cast light lures. You will still have more line than you need. You can use braid because small diameter line is fundamental to casting small lures. Casting 8 to 15 pound braid works well on casting reels and 10-pound is my favorite. Lures that weigh from 1/8 to 1/4-ounce are bass finesse baits. Every lure type you like using is a perfect choice; just reduced its size and weight. Tiny torpedoes, Pop-R’s, Buzzbaits, Hollow body frogs, Swimbaits, Jigs, Jerk baits, Tiny Zoom Brush Hogs, Lizards and worms oh my. I bet you have a ton of them and never use them because you need proper hooks, rod and line that can cast them. Little lures need little line and rods made to toss the little sucker a mile. They may not cast 160-feet however; they will cast 100 plus feet using the right line and rod. I know because I use ¼-ounce lures and lighter a lot when fishing gets slow. When bass eat little snacks they seldom miss and gobble them up like MMs. However, you can’t skip bass across the water on light line. I have faith you will learn that by yourself. Debo Dinks ain’t so dinky on light line.

Again, great video!! Brady did catch a few nice ones. I'm not a Whopper Plopper fan. I know they work & sure they do well on big bodies of water. Just not one that wants to spend the money when I have interest in other baits that I don't use hardly at all. For instance...Bull shad hard bait. Got 2 nice ones and I don't throw them because of the trash where I fish. Now you already know how to doctor or modify the creature baits. One thing I found out many years ago.... crawfish actually make a clacking noise when in a nervous situation. So if I may suggest,......try loading a small glass rattle in the base of the bait. Maybe even dye the very tips of the wings just barely. You do well enough to not worry about it but I found that here in the south big sow females hate crawfish being around a nest or cover & giving off that clacking noise. The bites are usually quick and they crush strike when they hit. Taking a few days off from fishing because of all the farming harvest that shakes the ground around here. Fish completely shut down. And we got cooler weather on the way 🤩. Watching your videos always show me something I learn from that applies to my approach. I can't thank you enough my friend!!! Big props to Brady as well.

How do you avoid getting your line taken away in the wind when you cast? When I throw my ploppers I find the extra line always ends up curving out a bit in the breeze before it comes down on the water, and sometimes the middle gets hooked around snaggy cover. Any tips?
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
Yes! Great point! I compensate with the cast and go a bit outside. I also stop the lure a foot or so above the water with my thumb on the spool. That way no extra line come out and it lands with the line straight! You can also move you rod way to the side as you cast, let the bait drop, then bring it back to center!

DEBO'S Fishing I heard you, took the family down to Florida for summer vacation , kids were out of school and just had to get away from work for a while , ended up fishing A LOT , the ironic part is, I was missing freshwater fishing . Saltwater fishing is good, but there’s just something about topwater lure actions that I can’t get enough of. Although at the moment I’ve been using just a plain reddish brown senko toss it out there along the dock and let it sink while just watching my line to see it move (line watching) then set the hook , got a couple 2 pounders . I know you feel your lines, I just watch my braided line on top of the water move instead.

What's your thoughts on the 75 vs 90 110 ect?
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
I'm not a big fan of the 90. The 75 and 110 have a much more consistent "plop". However, I know some folks swear by the 90.

Use Wet Ones wipes citrus scent after a day of fishing. The wife won’t say what’s wring no with you when you ask her to smell your hands...never mind she will still say that but not because of the smell.

I need to get better control of our local departments. As mayor, I need to allocate more funds to our fishery departments. They need to be releasing more big fish in Dinkville 🤣🤦♂️

I've been binging all the videos from start to finish, I like them, sometimes comment, I am a big fan. I love the personality and fishing tips. I love the raw footage! But as soon as you catch fish its depressing and annoying how you bring up every single time how small fish are. Am I to expect this the next 10- 30 videos as well? Fishing shouldn't be so negative. The obsession of size of fish is a downer if you really listen to your self speak after every catch in the last 20 videos or so you'll see what I mean. Its like a few people said all you do is catch Dinks and now you just make it a "Debo Dink" thing. You even made a video about Justifying small fish and it got worse from there! Everything else is top notch. I don't want to write negative comments but I feel its constructive to making better content.

The durability on those flipping hogs is pretty bad, they tear down and up so easily, 2 fish n they’re done. N they cost like 7.99 for 5
