I am 6.1' but my brother and landlord keep trying to say i am 6.3'.. This probably stems from the fact they have heard so many people lie about their height and being in denial with their own heights, that they refuse to believe me when i say that that was my proffesionally measured height!! Me too! I'm 6'3/4 and people have guessed me at 6'3 or even 6'4. I think it's those measuring ticks next to doors at the bank where people get their height from. The 6 foot line is eye level to me and I know that's completely wrong.

No.. shoes aren't at all a "factor." Your height is the length from the bottom of the foot to the top of your head. Wearing shoes, or a hat, or any thing that isn't apart of your body doesn't change your "height."

Great video, dude! Not all of us lie about our height. That one fellow may have been mis-measured at the doctor's office and really thought he was 6'. I was told one time that I was 6'2'' and even though I would love that, I knew it was incorrect. I asked the nurse, "Six-two?! Are you sure?" She said, "Yes, you are seventy-two inches." I politely corrected her by telling her that '72' inches is six-feet. Not sure if you knew or not, but your height does naturally change during the day. You are at your tallest when you wake up and shorter in the evening/night. Without shoes I am about five-eleven. When wearing shoes, I am anywhere from just under to over six-feet (almost six-one).

Got the opposite, Nurse shortened me by 2 inches!! She was barely 4'9 and had me step on that archaic measuring platform they have at some clinics and struggled to get the measuring stick to flatly lay on my head then was squinting all kinds of ways and says 5'10. I 💀. Doctor was an actual 5'10 guy and I was taller than him so let him know and they changed it haha.

I personally like using the Metric System better. Height fluctuates a little throughout the day so centimeters are more accurate in my opinion. I’m 182 cm which is 5’11 and 5/8ths. If I’m using tinder I round up to 6 feet. Men usually lie to women online. If I said I was 5’11 on tinder the girls gonna think I’m like 5’9

You're NOT lying, you're rounding it up, which is different. No one's gonna say "I'm 5 ft 11 and 5/8ths". That's too precise. You can round it down to 5 ft 11 or round it up to 6 ft. You choose the latter, as you're closer to 6 ft. Also, there's no reason why you should round it down your height, instead of rounding it up. I agree the metric system is far more precise

99% of guys will exaggerate their height 1-3 inches depending on who they're with. My 6'4" friend will tell shorter girls he's 6'6" b/c they can't tell the difference, and my 5'11" friend tells people he's 6'1" cuz he rounds up from his "in-shoes" height. Imma be honest, I love underselling my height. When I got my full drivers license. The old lady working there must’ve got confused and put my height down at 5’6”. Maybe because I said I was 180cm and then 5’11” when I was 16. So I guess she just put whatever she actually thought I was? And now I can legitimately say I’m 5’6”. But idk bro, lying on your height is so counter intuitive imo. If someone stops having romantic interest in you if you’re not a certain height then I’m sure they aren’t someone you wanna be with. Think about it. There’s some reasons a girl might be like: “I wanna feel smaller than them, or wanna feel safe”. Or whatever but imo most of the time it’s just some random ass reason and as long as you’re a couple inches taller than them, they can’t really tell how tall you are. In college I was tutoring some guy, who eventually asked me how tall I was. I said 5'8", and he said no way because he's 5'9 and he's actually shorter. In truth, the nurse measured me 5'6" when I gave blood, but I was taller than everyone who said he was 5'6", then when we were measured for graduation gown, we were walking out in front of a wall, like a line up, and the teacher read out 5'9" for me, so I subtracted an inch because of shoes, and that became my official height. The interesting thing is if you ask people around my height, you'd get all kinds of different answer. If this guy asked me on the street, I'd get him to do my official measurement right there. However, there's no need to be obsessed with height. You eventually marry only one woman no matter how many you date, unless you cheat, but when it comes to cheating, height had never prevented any dude to cheat.

Height measure on flat ground and flat wall also measure yourself at each spot too to see if your height is accurate all the time. Like when you measure different at different spots measure yourself in that same spot to see if you get the same height cause some the ground isn’t flat can be sloped at where they are standing vs when you measure the base of that pole the level of the ground is higher which would also subtract from their actual height cause they are standing toward on a downward slope ground. Also take off shoes cause some guys not only can wear boots but also shoe lifts or insoles are very common so you add height with shoes and can have another half or one inch with insoles or more in boots with evaluator lifts LOL

Of course, most men don't lie about their height. Men measure men like nature intended: You get respect for your achievements. It is "modern" Western society, and the social engineering of "a man only has value if he is taller than average" message that makes vvomen compete with their peers via visible markers of her own attractiveness (i.e. "I have a trophy because I'm better than average"). Taking off your shoes in the evening is not an indicative of your peak height though. In the morning barefoot you are even taller, and that's your real height as well. It's the height of your body. Not talking about the first 1-2 minutes after you wake up, but rather of your height during most of the morning.

This is not an accurate study to find out if men lie about their height on dating apps. It could be that 1) men know their actual height and 2) deliberately lie about their height on dating apps. But since you’re not asking for their height on a dating app, they have no reason to lie to you. It would be better to ask them if you could quickly look at their dating profile and then verify if they’re as tall as they report on their profile. You could also use these findings to compare with the results of this video. I suspect that men aren’t lying to you because 1) they’re not trying to date you, 2) they’re being recorded, and 3) you’re walking around with a measuring tape 😂

Time and time again. Measuing tape on a sidewalk isnt really gonna give an accurate measurement. Wall measurements on a leveled wooden floor with a solid object like a 9 inch aerosol can for example always works great. Dont do basements, the foundation and flooring can usually be pretty unleveled especially with years of abuse for the foundation. Sidewalks actually have a slight slope and for a good reason, so all the rain water, etc could slide down into the sewers. Another reason why you dont really judge height or do height comparisons on a sidewalk because it can vary sometimes drastically.

I am 6,1 3/4 and wish I were six two because it is considered the ideal height but I console myself by saying that Warren Beatty is my exact sane height. I have never lied about my height and have found that being on the tallish side ( especially in Europe where I live and in Central America) being on the tall side is an advantage. I watched a youtube presentation that you have probably seen in which they line ups men through a two way mirror of different heights and women comment whether they would date them and without exception very small men are excluded even when they tell the women that they are rich have great personalities and are best selling authors and or neurosurgeons. This, most probably, is the result of genetic conditioning explained by the discipline of socio-biology. A man's earning power does not offset his height which seems hard wired in women's brains to represent security....the parochial cave bear is never far away. Well it depends what kind of day you measure 6’1 3/4. Typically this is my low but most of the day I am like 6’1 5/8- 6’2. So I just say I’m about 6’2 since I have measured that mark even at midday. So if you are like 6’1 3/4 at your low is fair to say about 6’2. However if it’s your midday height or your morning height then it’s a different story

I am exactly 185 cm when measured right after waking up. By the time for bed, I am 183cm, so a good 2cm difference. I have a few of those high base shoes that I sometimes wear and those can easily push me to be very close to 190cm.. I train mma without shoes and there are guys above 195cm etc and they don’t feel than much taller to me than I already am, I feel like 200cm and above is where I really say holy f dude you’re pretty tall aren’t you 😂

This video proves men do lie about their height. They're adding 1-2 inches to their height. The guy you measured at 6'1 3/4 was measured in shoes. Most were measured in shoes and that adds 1-2 inches depending on shoe thickness and even lifts, if they're wearing them.

Most guys lie about their heights, and a lot wear extra padding in their shoes to add more to their height. Read my original comment again, I never said shoes alone add 2 inches, I said: "Most were measured in shoes and that adds 1-2 inches depending on shoe thickness and even lifts, if they're wearing them". So when I say it adds 1-2 inches to height, it includes shoe thickness and potentially any lifts worn.

If your 5' 11" or 11 and a half then you would get away with saying 6ft. But guys who are below 5'10 theres no point in adding on an inch or two it doesnt make you look taller. But guys at 5' 11" to me are like 6' 0" becouse when you see so many of them standing next to each other and one is 6' 0" and one is 5' 11" there is nothing between them, they just look the same height. But 2 inches taller is notice able. From 5ft11 to 6ft1

Honestly I don't think men really lie beyond 1 inch, maybe some people have bad posture and just look shorter than they are and perception is very tricky. I am 180cm a little under 5 foot 11 at night but people think im 5 foot 9 or 10 usually bc i have bad posture and im still growing.

I'd say to put whatever height you are in shoes and if you wear lifts, that too. It also depends on your hair. I'm someone with thick hair that adds and extra 1-2 inches to my height. My height without shoes + hair is 5'8.5 but if you add hair and shoes, i'm around 5'11.

I'm 179 and I say I'm 5'10, most ppl always assume I'm 5'11 but I'm only 5'11 when I wake up in the morning because I'm 178 at night, most ppl my height always say they're 5'11 or even 6' but they're still 5'10 because to actually be 5'11 they gotta be 179 at night because they're 180 in the afternoon, someone that's actually 5'11 will be 179/180 at night and someone that's 181/182 at night is 6'.

im 5'4" girl in my experience when i dated guys that were close to my height they were weirdly focused on that. They were the only ones who talked about height and when standing close to me and one insisted I had to be 5'6" or something cause he was 5'6". This was with both of us wearing 1 in shoes. Of course to protect the ego I said "maybe i grew, been a while since i checked" BUT i I know i'm still 5'4" cause everytime the hospital measures my height without shoes that's just what it is. It's really weird too cause that guy was physically hot but very insecure

5'10 seems quite short anymore.Sure it's not that tall.Not like 6 ft+.But 5'10 is not short by any means unless you're a basketball player.I think it's because a lot of men(not all) do add an inch or two.Whether knowly or unknownly.Im 5'10 barefoot.I've met countless people who refused to believe that im just 5'10.Partly because I've got long legs and wide shoulders that make me seem taller.I've met a dude who was clearly at least two -three inches shorter than me,who claimed 5'10.I told him i was 5'10.The drop in expression in his eyes i can't forget.Not to be boastful but I've studied tape measure height for so long now measuring people and things.Most times im nearly dead on or just a half inch off.I know what 6 ft. looks like.I know what 5'11 looks like.Whether i have shoes on at the moment or not doesn't matter for i take everything into account when guessing the height of an object.I will know a legit 6'2 guy when i see him.A legit 6'2 guy barefoot(or close)is a giant to me.If you say you're 6'2(or more) and you really are as tall as you claim,to me as a 5'10 guy you are very tall.Yet I've seen guys who by my judgement were maybe a weak 6ft. or 5'11 1/2 barefoot claiming 6'1-6'2.Even a 5'11 1/2 guy with lanky body frame seems quite tall to my perspective even though it's only 1 1/2 " taller than me.

friend, do not measure them with sneakers and counting the hair that is not the real height, for example the supposed 6"7 did not seem that height, especially on the street since the floor is uneven with the tape measure, it is best to measure yourself with the device that is in hospitals.

You can measure people even without stadiometers. By using a wall,a tape and flat bottom object like a tiny box you can measure people correctly.

I've had two doctors in the US and someone in Vietnam measure me and tell me three different heights: one said 6'2" (188cm), the other said 73" (185cm or 6'1"), and the assistant in Vietnam told me 188cm (6'2"). So I figure either I got old and shrunk in between the first and second, and the third didn't know how to use the machine (yes, it was a machine, not the wooden ruler), or I wasn't standing up straight, or some other explanation. Bottom line, one should measure height HORIZONTALLY, straight out of bed in the morning, like Wilt Chamberlain did, throughout his career (you can google it).

I disagree now with that, your real height is what you are most of the day. In my case is 187-188cm. 189cm lasts only for very less in the morning. So if you measure like 188cm in the morning then you fall to 186-187cm category guy.

@@MarkFraserB25 for me what’s acceptable is your real height. Shoe height doesn’t count as well. Well obviously you’ll be taller with shoes (depending of the shoes) but your height is your barefoot height. So when you state your height it always should be barefoot and around noon measurement when you have already been active for 4-5 hours at least. In cm my height is 192-193cm. In shoes 194-195cm. But I can’t say I’m 194-195cm because that’s not my barefoot height. So no. Morning height and shoe height don’t count as part of your real height. However shoes make you taller when you walk outside that’s all
