@ThreeKidsInATrenchcoat I don't know about them, but if my phone falls between the mattress and wall, it blends in too much with the darkness that it takes a while to find it. And if I don't have my glasses, I have less chance finding my phone than Velma finding her own glasses. I'm losing it partly because it's hard to see, and partly because after a while I'm just too lazy to feel like finding it. I will just find something else to entertain me until I need my phone.

Spiders Georg strikes again, he often eats spiders while they're earing prey, so in addition to the 10,000 spiders he eats a day, he also eats the dozens of mosquitoes on their webs too.
@SherlandShrouht-esseАй бұрын
You just sent me down a rabbit hole of spider georg maths. Here’s my two cents. For spider georg to change the mean amount of spiders eaten per year across humans from 0 to 3, he would need to eat 8e+9*3 spiders per year, or 65,753,424.65753425 spiders per day. There are an estimated 2.1e+16 spiders in the world, and 1.49e+14 square meters of land in the world, which would come out to an average of 140.9395973154362 spiders per square meter. Assuming spider georg has an armspan of 1.8 meters, he would catch 1.8 square meters of spider per second per meter per second or velocity, or 253.6912751677852 spiders. We can divide 65,753,424.65753425 spiders per day by 86400 to get that spider georg would beed to eat 761.0350076103501 spiders per second, or 1,141.552511415525 spiders per second if we assume 1/3 of his life is spent resting, and 1,522.0700152207 spiders per second if we assume 1/2 of his life (including sleeping) is spent doing non-spider hunting things. This would mean 10.79944915561354 square meters of spider per second, which would require spider georg to spend 12 hours a day with a velocity of 5.999693975340857 meters per second and collecting every spider of every altitude in his path. If we assume that the 140.9395973154362 spiders per square meter are spread evenly across an altitude of 10 meters, that value now becomes 14.09395973154362 spiders per cubic meter, and spider georg can catch 45.66442953020133 spiders per second per meter per second of velocity given a height the same as the armspan. Taking the 1,522.0700152207 spiders per second needed value, spider georg would need to sustain a speed of 33.33163319633809 meters per second 12 hours per day to catch 65,753,424.65753425 spiders per day. But 31% of the world is forest (where the majority of spiders are located and spiders per cubic meter comes into play), so if we assume all the spiders are in these forests that brings it up 45.46438623078587 spiders per cubic meter, and brings spider georg’s velocity down to 10.33280629086481 meters per second. But we can’t just multiply his armspan and height dimensions for his area and the amount of spiders he can catch. This helpful diagram (images.app.goo.gl/J3MfK7om6744kQys9) indicates a 188.1cm human would have a height difference of 139.8cm between the ankle and somewhere around the middle of the arm, scaling down for a 1.8 meter spider georg would yield 1.337799043062201 meters. It indicates a waist diameter of 31.8cm, scaled down to 0.3043062200956938 meters, divided by two is 0.152153110047847 meters from the epicenter. It indicates a distance of 77.1cm from the epicenter to the wrist, scaled down is 0.737799043062201 meters. 0.737799043062201 minus 0.152153110047847 is a distance between the wrist and the waist of 0.585645933014354 meters. 1.337799043062201 times 0.585645933014354 divided by two for a triangle is 0.391738284379936 square meters of webbing area connecting between the wrist and the ankle, assuming the distance from the epicenter between the legs to the ankles is equal to that of the epicenter to the side of the waist. The distance in height between the middle of the arm and the end of the head is 38.9cm, scaled down is 0.3722488038277512 meters. It indicates the head has a diameter of 16.9cm, scaled down and turned to radius is 0.08086124401913876 meters. Using the 0.737799043062201 meters from the epicenter to the wrist, minus 0.08086124401913876 is 0.656937799043062 meters. 0.656937799043062 times 0.3722488038277512 divided by two for a triangle is 0.122272154941508 square meters of webbing area connecting the head and the wrist. It indicates the head and neck is 26.2cm long and 16.9cm in diameter as mentioned earlier, turning that into radius and scaling everything down yields an area of 0.020273345390444 square meters. Seems the torso starts about half way through the 48.8cm column, 48.8/2 plus 12.7 is 61.5cm and a diameter of 40cm, turning that into radius and scaling down is 0.112634784002198 square meters. 48.8/2 plus everything below that is a height of 124.8cm at the waist and a diameter of 31.8, turning that into radius and scaling down gives 0.181710125683936 square meters. Adding the head, torso, waist-down, wrist-ankle webbing, and wrist-head webbing, and multiplying by two for the other half of spider georg gives a total area of 1.657257388796044 square meters, which would be converted into 1.657257388796044 cubic meters of spiders caught per second per meters per second of velocity, which brings spider georg’s needed velocity all the way up to 20.20102164499814 meters per second! PS: fixed error of forgetting to double spider georg’s surface area for his second half.

Chemistry, especially the chemistry of acids, can be strange like that. Stomach acid won't dissolve steel, but can make it rust really badly. That said, stomach acid is generally too weak to dissolve most things - digestion is caused by enzymes and bacteria more - but it does a fantastic job of killing potentially dangerous microbes in your food.

@radical_ratАй бұрын
The phone thing is PROBABLY because Lithium Ion batteries have a potential for explosive failure, and you don't want one next to your head if it does happen to explode. In MOST phones, you won't ever have to worry about that, and in the event that a battery does go bad there are USUALLY plenty of warning signs that would prompt you to replace it before it actually reaches a point where explosion is likely, but there is some precedent for it happening suddenly.
