Debunking the cancer cure suppression conspiracy theory

I stirred up Club Anti-Vax this week and got barraged on social media with their conspiratorial pap and links as expected.
It inspired me to speak to medical conspiracy theories or at least one of them, that being the "Big pharma is hiding the cure to cancer dude".
It is a shallow, vapid and easy to debunk conspiracy yet some folks are inclined to believe it. This conspiracy theory can lead to some very real harm among some very vulnerable people so I felt I should examine it a little.
The anti-vax debate is a little more nuanced but rest assured, its most religious like adherents also believe in the cancer cure suppression theory.
If you believe one, you are quite likely to believe the other.
Just give a little thought to some of the statements being trotted out by the conspiracy types when you hear from them.
Particularly if you are making decisions as important as choosing medical treatment for something like cancer.
