Crazy video David. I love it. Oh yeah...Thanks god for the camera. I enjoyed every second of the flight and especially the landings and take offs. Its much more interesting when everything is not going to well. Like me. I love challenges and I dont mind if I crash the plane as long as its on the camera. So, thanks for posting David and see you soon. Now Iam inspired with your video today and I think that we will film one to. Greetings from Slovenia. Oh yeah...

Cool have a good flight! Yeah sometimes it is good to get no so good things on video. The damn engine died about 2 feet above the ground on those last two landings. That is why they were bouncers. I'm just glad I got it down in one piece.

The same thing happened to me with the Fokker. On the ground was working perfect but when I got from the ground it just died. But what can you do. Somethimes you win and somethimes you lose. But the main thing is that we are ok and we are having fun. Oh yeah... Stay cool David and i wish you a nice day. Robert

We had a similar situation with an OS FS95 yesterday and found a break in the pressure line from the tank to muffler that was basically invisible. Replaced that and had a perfect day at the MAAW field overlooking the Hudson!

yes this is odd because I installed a new fuel tank and all new lines just prior to the maiden flight. SO it has a total of maybe 7 flights....? Sort of a short time to have something fuel related to be happening. I still have not looked into it as yet. I have an Easy Stik 60 with a Saito 100T ready to fly now.

Hi sir! I have the same plane with an OS 55 AX. I have been flying it a couple of times now and I noticed the engine gets too hot in this cowl. Any suggestions before I cut bigger inlet holes? (I really want to avoid that)
@dmrcflyr25 жыл бұрын
The general rule of thumb ratio of outlet to inlet cooling holes should be 2:1. Outlet should be twice as large as the inlet. I cannot answer your question because I do not know what cooling holes you have in the cowl.
@robinsonprofis75015 жыл бұрын
David McIntire Thank you sir I didn’t know this rule of thumb. The cowl has the standard holes from the manufacturer (3 holes in front, 1 on the left side for the cylinder and 1 big square opening at the bottom). I know it’s hard to answer these kind of questions without having the actual model in front of you. Thank you for your time!

You may just have to open up the bottom a bit more. I really dislike cowled engine installations because of this as well as other issues. I usually like open nose designs.

I'd say good therapy from a bad day at the field is spend time at the bench finishing the Super Sportster 90/120.

LOL!! It would have been if this Value Hobby Easy Stik didn't show up at my door.....!!!

Wait I used to have the same Decathlon. I now have a Seagull Model version, but the Phoenix Model had a better build quality tbh.

There's not a sintered clunk in that tank is there?
@dmrcflyr27 жыл бұрын
uuuuh. I do not know what a sintered clunk is, so.... It is a clunk that came with the DuBro tank that is installed in the airplane.

Bronze spheres fused together to form a porous lump - usually in the form of a truncated cone with a suction tube glued in. Intended for petrol/oil but of course there's very little oil. I know, to my cost, that glow fuel with circa 20% oil will gum them up quite quickly - and then comes fuel starvation. Dubro do make one and they say it's for gas and glow. It won't feed an Enya 80 for long if at all.

No I have the standard clunk that comes in a DuBro tank.

Something else then. These are good videos, much appreciated.

Looks like your Decathlon is tail heavy.
@dmrcflyr27 жыл бұрын
No it isn't tail heavy at all. I just don't have enough rudder mixed in with the aileron. If it was tail heavy I would not be able to pull off the first landing, or any landing for that matter.
