Decathlon Quecha 2 Seconds EASY Tent - NEW Quick Set Up Tent
We tested the 2 Second Tent last summer for Decathlon (video here • Decathlon 2 Second 3 T... )
They sent over the new version of the tent (before it is available to the public). I took it to the mountains with our dogs and gave it a quick test.
I did my best to not read the instructions or learn anything about the tent.
Why would I do that? LOL I wanted to see how easy to set up the tent really is. How a person who is in a rush, probably with grumpy kiddo in tow, would approach setting the tent up. You know, real-world testing :)
Mother nature gave us a good wind and rain storm as we tested the tent out. It handled it well and stayed dry.
This is a good tent for a beginner, or someone looking to car camp. At 11lbs, it is a bit too heavy (in my opinion) to backpack with. But for car camping, staying out of the sun at the lake, or backyard, this a good option.

Great tent! Kept me bone dry after a full rainstorm. It packs away nicely but if you are planning on trekking with it, it is quite heavy (5 kilograms) so you may have to sacrifice other comforts, that being said, it is excellent for overlanding! Would definitely recommend the tent overall

I just came back from a three week camping trip on Corsica. I used my HILLEBERG Soulo and on the east coast i saw someone use two of those tents near me ( two children and parents). On this place we had a Storm rolling in with 75km(46mph) winds and the Quechua tents had no problems after that. I did speak with the Owner with my poor French knowledge.. He told me that he was really scared inside the tent and not sure it would handle any more winds, but in the end they did fine. I think the price-performance ratio is great and they did look "cool" ;) From what i saw i think they are most likely good 3-season tents. Cheers from Switzerland

This was a great demo video. I needed a quick set-up and take down tent for kayak fishing tournament camping. I think breaking camp at 4 AM will be possible with this tent- no tent poles and shock cords to deal with threading through loops! Plus I can go to bed when it is light out and fool myself into thinking it is night. Now, if only it was SOUND PROOF as well! LOL! I should be getting my tent in 5 days time! from order to receipt- which is great considering it is shipping out of CA.

Oh how much more compact they are when stored vs a pop-up tent! I just ordered this tent just as its so compact, just hope it's more waterproof than the pop-up tent that lasted just 1 night and leaked and it was more expensive than this 2 second tent!

hi, I was wondering if you could help one of my poles in my tent has detached from the main strand, and I cannot get it back in place. is there want way I can get it back?
@croatiazg2581
@croatiazg2581 2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully you managed to fix it. :) If anyone has the same problem you could either get it back to the nearest Decathlon and ask a professional to fix it or you could try to do it by yourself. It is really not that hard as long as nothing is broken (fiberglass nor plastic) but you have to be really calm and patient while doing this because otherwise you could break the plastic parts of the poles. This sometimes take up to 20 minutes before you get it right. :/ The easiest way is to detach entire side of a tent where your pole got away and gently put every pole back in its place. After that just connect fabric and the poles again. You will naturally understand what I am talking about here...:') PS: Most of the time this happens because of a bad body posture while opening the tent. You should get the right angle while pulling the cord.

Hows the ventilation on the corner sides (bottom area)? It doesn't seem like its very breathable inside. I have mine on pre-order but still debating if I want to keep it. Would have been nice somehow if the rain fly was removable. Its 99 B pounds on decathlon UK but 200 US dollars in decathlon US. That sucks.
@Engearment
@Engearment 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jp, That is good feedback on the price difference. I did not try to remove the rain fly either. The way the poles are built into the tent, lead me to believe that I did not want to mess that system up! LOL. We had a good amount of wind when testing, so it did a good job dumping condensation and air on the vents. The material of the inner tent does feel thicker than the backpacking tents we are used to testing. FWIW. I hope it does treat you well. If not, let us know what you think could be better. Take care!
@MrLaurent124

In France, it's 99 euros. Weird. I guess it is because Decathlon has been around for decades now here whereas in the US, it is sort of brand new
@Engearment
@Engearment 4 жыл бұрын
@@MrLaurent124 I think you are spot on with this. Decathlon reached out to us last summer to review some other gear (Itiwit inflatable kayak - we love it!) that we have enjoyed testing. I believe they are making a good effort to reach markets outside of France.

@@Engearment I used to live in the US for several years and was always surprised there was no decatlhon-like store. It is good as they can really reduce the cost. Sometimes they have good new ideas too. You have to be careful though, they are really not that good for high end gear. Also, they are trying to "kill" all the other brands with their own brands. Their own brands are nice but you never know the quality of what you are buying. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not. So for everyday gear, it is perfect. For new cool stuff too, like the tent or inflatable paddle, kayak, ... But for good gear, i would say to be really careful
