One of the most mature, responsible and insightful NBA players interview ever. It had to be done and he did it, and especially added all the court part of it, returning to the greatness of the pre-Finals 2011 Playoffs since 2003 and the 2020 Finals since 2012.

2011 was the turning point for Lebron and was the most important series of his career. He became the best version of himself and improved his game. I honestly think if he wins that series he doesn’t become the Lebron we’ve seen since. That loss humbled him and made him realize he still had so much more to learn to master.

Dallas had a crazy playoff run that year. I remember thinking Portland was going to beat them. They ended them in 6. Swept the 2x defending lakers. Beat Okc (KD, Westbrook, Harden) in 5. Then of course Miami in 6. Also filled with crazy comebacks throughout. A very underrated run .

@Gloria Smalls Yeah, KD "busted his ass" by joining a 73-9 championship team that had just busted his ass after being up 3-1. KD needed 3 all-stars including a two time MVP to beat Lebron. Just accept the fact, without KD those Warriors are still going to the finals. He really "earned those rings" huh? He took the easy way out. Don't ever compare KD to Lebron. KD's move was nothing like Lebron's.
@EM-mp3bx4 жыл бұрын
Are you aware how asinine your argument sounds? MJ would easily bust other team asses had he joined the pistons. The point that you miss is, KD NEEDED a juggernaut 73-9 championship team with 3 all-stars including a two time MVP to beat Lebron. He couldn't do it on his own. Remember, before the cupcake joined the Warriors he was 16-4 against Lebron. Lebron's been busting KD's ass. I don't give a crap about those shots KD made, he needed a 73-9 team to do that. Easy to shine on a team like that, just accept the fact. Lebron averaged a triple-double that season plus those few dunks on Dursnake. Your whole argument is invalid. KD needed a 73-9 superteam to dominate Lebron. Wow, amazing. Lebron has never been on a superteam especially with Wade's old ass and Bosh's precarious predicaments. Wade was not in his prime like he was or Bosh. Lebron carried those guys. Those rings are not worth crap. Imagine if Lebron joined the celtics in 09 or whatever. Yeah, that's equivalent to what that cupcake did. Get a grip.

I cant hate on LBJ tho. in this interview here he talks abt playing with respect and not with anger. I can dig that. I can also dig him going from homeless in Akron to being one of the most noteworthy players ever, if not the grestest. I would recommend the Ben Taylor videos on him. doesn't matter what you think you are. when you have 20k people booing you, and you are mentally soft (and untrained to have thick skin - like going to college and going into a mad house like Duke) there is no doubt that your game will be affected. he can say whatever he wants. when you take a team that has sucked for so long like the Cavs have, and your a hometown guy, and you lead them to becoming a good team, and you LEAVE because you need help, you are a quitter. but thats kids today. now!
@leultrainstinct4063 жыл бұрын
Mentally soft?! he’s had to face expectations and pressure NO other player in history has before, and he faced them at such a young age. He was expected to be the next micheal Jordan as a JUNIOR. I can guarantee you that he’s mentally strong. ANY other player would’ve folded under those expectations but he rose above it all. You say he quit, but what you let forgetting is that he spent 7 YEARS carrying that sorry ass organization who did absolutely nothing to help him. He left because they failed him, and he needed to save his own career. Then they had the audacity to burn his jerseys and hate him, even after all he did for them, Disrespectful. Lebron was nice enough to come back and give them a championship even after they disrespected him. Hes far from a quitter. He shows kids how to defy the odds, and overcome pressure and expectations. That’s who he is

@chrisil1: Dirk proved that had LeBron stuck with the Cavs there was a good chance he would've won a title. He wanted to take the easy route and be able to party in south beach (hence that being where he "took his talents" instead of Miami). That's why Dirk's title will always be more impressive than any title LeBron wins. Because he stuck with the Mavericks, who did worse than the Cavs over the same period of time, and it paid off in the end.
