Dallas 11 was a storm, just unstoppable, in term of fight...their players always trying to sustain the level, just for Dirk to take it to another level, so JJ Barea was part of it, his job was sensational, i remember i saw all those games and it was fantastic to see Dallas, it was kind of like Duncans, Gino and PArker 's San Antonio playing the ball but with a top tier killer finisher like Nowitzki, sensational. Kid, Terry, Marion, Barea. I remember Marion had games of 19 points and 23 points too, even tyson Chandler.

Barea was great, the stats don't show it but to give some speed to such an old team was huge. DeShawn Stevenson turning into an elite 3&D guy out of nowhere helped a lot too.

That 2011 Mavs Dirk team was probably the greatest playoff run in NBA history. LaMarcus Aldridge & the Blazers in the 1st round. Kobe & the back to back defending champ Lakers in the 2nd round. 3rd round it’s KD, Harden, Russ & OKC. Then in order to win it all Dirk had to go through Bron, Wade & Bosh. Nowitzki is 1 of 1. Easily one of the best to ever play the game.

@@AsukasButler Nah, at that point in time Lebron never forced anything especially when he had people he trusted. Mavs knew Lebron didn't like to force anything and took advantage of that fact. Lebron definitely learned from that moment because now even if other players are playing well he now knows exactly when he has to force his presence on the game in order to be successful. I think at that time and before that moment, he didn't realize just how overwhelming he was to have to keep dealing with for opposing teams.

As a Wade fan, 2011 was a tough loss. He statistically outplayed Dirk & it was really the last year of Wade’s prime (was still great in 2012 but injuries started), so it seems like a huge missed opportunity. Edit: Yes, Wade STATISTICALLY was the best player in the 2011 finals. He was a LITTLE BETTER statistically than Dirk. Wade: 27ppg 55fg% 30%3fg 69ft% 7rpg 5apg 2spg 2bpg Dirk: 26ppg 42fg% 37%3fg 98ft% 10ppg 2apg 1spg 1bpg Wade also had a higher: true shooting percentage offensive rating defensive rating game score PER But, Dirk was of course, better OVERALL in that the Mavs won & he was better in the clutch. I’m just talking STATISTICALLY. Wade was a LITTLE BIT better.

I think the pressure got to LeBron. He was getting nuclear fallout hate that whole season. I never seen anything like it! Heat were getting booed on the road by almost every team. Also the chemistry on that team was pretty poor. They were good but outside the Big 3 it was just a bunch of last-minute corpse vet minimum players. So whenever they ran into a very well-constructed team with great chemistry like the Mavs, they got outplayed. The Heat came back so much better after 2011 once they got more reps together and actually started building the team with specialists. They also established an actual team identity with a legitimate hierarchy of leadership. I think these facets get overlooked alot when it comes to winning championships. This is why just throwing stars together doesn't always pan out.

Wade was awesome in that series but Lebron couldn’t match his awesomeness. I think Lebron was amazed how much better Wade can get when he really wants to and it affected Bron big time. He looked like a role player, while Wade looked like a true leader. Lebron fans were so embarrassed after those finals and they did everything to downplay what happened by discrediting Wade every chance they got. Wade fell back not because Lebron was the better player but because Lebron is useless if he’s not in control of things. From what I saw Wade should have been the 2012 finals mvp because he was closing out all those games against OkC when Lebron would struggle in crunch time. Lebron got his in Miami but Wade and the Heat would of won much more if Lebron sacrificed his stats and let Wade just be Wade at all times.

@@harveymitchell5114 I'll explain it to you why the 2011 Miami Heat lost....Basketball takes more than 3 players. The Heat had no size and no depth. The Mavs scored at will on the Miami Heat in Game 5 and 6 scoring 112 and 105 points to win the series.

The Mavs had Dirk, JKidd, Jason Terry, Barea, Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler, DeShaun Stevenson, Peja, Corey Brewer, Brendon Haywood, etc. They were older than the Heat, but they knew how to play better as a team. Kidd was a great coach on the floor. And the line about the Heat being more talented, is not true. They were more hyped, but at that point, Lebron was not better than Dirk. Wade was more athletic than Jet, but not better in scoring. Bosh was not better than Chandler and they did not have a floor general like Kidd or a catalyst like Barea, and their role players were not better than the Mavs role players. The best team won.
