Sunday the 13th a team from Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery spent the day north of Wolcott recovering a rolled ZJ on Muddy Pass Road 700.1.
It was a long afternoon of rigging the vehicle for safe recovery up the hill, and an X-Lock belay was used to help control the descent of the vehicle when pulling it back over onto its wheels.
A safety line was used that also incorporated an X-Lock to hold the vehicle on the hillside, while each winch pull was re-rigged, or lines shortened.
Once the vehicle was back on the road, it was flat towed down to pavement where tow trucks could much more easily access the vehicle for the owner.
Our team members returned home along the front range as late as 9:30 PM Sunday.
