I appreciate the call to collective assembly *and* I find it disingenuous when pastors overlook the fact that there are literal spiritual deserts in this country. I lived in San Antonio and couldn't find a church that worked. I heard folks say to just "find a church and work there", but how do you work in a church that doesn't value your labor (ex. abuses it, wants your labor but not your ideas, etc.). I appreciate the intention (keep folks in community and communion), but the overlooking of the deserts is annoying. Churched spaces are not immune to foolery, and I have no problems creating community, study, and fellowship beyond the walls of a church.

Well said. Times have changed; "find a church" is not without testing and proving first. With the spiritual compromises going on today (i.e. Christian witches, occultists, etc.) believing that they can go to church and still serve Satan, we are not just go and serve and anywhere. We must let the Spirit lead and guide us; waiting patiently for Him. Thank God for the internet where we can still get the sound doctrinal food we need no matter where we physically are. Believers must make the most of it until further instruction. Well said, truth.
