You nothing are such great teachers about the different plants, trees, and evergreens in your garden. It was so easy to focus on each item without all of the other perennial plants and annuals. Thank you so much for a wonderful year of sharing and learning from your beautiful garden. Happy New Year!

Great garden review! Seeing the structure of the garden without the beautiful distraction of flowers is so helpful. The review of plant information, size, growth rate, etc along with the printed names of the evergreens is so appreciated. Also, seeing the flashback of summer plants reinforces the beauty of the winter garden. Thank you and Happy 2025!

Thanks for letting me know our areas best time for pruning boxwoods. I agree about the evergreens. I added so much last year that looking out at the garden in the winter looks so much better than a bunch of sticks coming out of the ground.

Enjoyed your tour; I’ve been walking my north west Michigan yard and garden daily as the snow has melted again. The deer scat is abundant, but my susceptible plants are protected. I gave up on rhododendrons years ago because they were deer food; hope your buds survive the winter.

7:48 Love the descriptions… “It always has a little bit of Whoville.” 😊 Looking at a seed catalog and your video- nice diversion for me! Hope you guys have a great 2025 and I’ll be watching! Also, thanks for the Ink Berry Holly history as I have some and didn’t know that! FYI, maybe it’s my soil, but I’ve had to apply a fertilizer several times a year and make sure the Inkberry are well watered otherwise the leaves turn yellow and drop off here in my Chicagoland 6A garden.

I know you have deer pressure so I’m wondering how you keep them off the GG Arbs in the winter…I’m referring to the bucks rutting on them breaking branches. They don’t eat them in my area. I won’t plant Emerald Arbs because they will eat them. I’ve planted a long hedge of American Full Speed A Hedge Arbs and deer have rutted on them also. Your place is such an inspiration, just beautiful.😍

Love your videos so much!! Thank you for generously sharing your gardens! For your new section, have you considered a conifer that turns yellow in winter, to contrast with your vanderwolf pine? Like Pinus contorta Chief Joseph or Pinus strobus Louie. I have Louie in my zone 3 garden and it’s fantastic. I wish I could plant Chief Joseph but it’s not hardy enough. Have fun planning & planting!! 😍

I would not mind a video detailing the process of moving a sprinkler head. Capping the head vs changing the type of head vs moving it to another location. I also have a lawn irrigation system and it prevents me from converting several areas of my lawn to garden beds. Is there also a way to determine where the irrigation lines run in the yard or is it just a surprise when you start digging and hit one?

Happy New Year, Chris & Eric! 🎉 I have a question for you: In summer 2020, I found a large Hydrangea macrophylla discarded by the curb with its roots fully exposed, but the leaves were still alive. I called my husband, and he picked it up for me. We planted it immediately. Since then, it’s never bloomed, though it always has beautiful green leaves. We have an irrigation system and refresh the soil every spring. However, it’s exposed to a lot of direct sun during the hot summer months. Do you have any suggestions? Should I have covered it for the winter? Location: Long Island
@growformegardening
@growformegardening 3 күн бұрын
Honestly, if it is exposed the buds are probably getting wiped out. Can you see buds on it now? If so...get it covered up. It's not now that is the issue...its the freeze and thaw in Spring that does us in!
