B.C. Metchosin Seeds is on the Island, they have some interesting varieties. BC Eco is at UBC and has home grown seeds, limited though. There's a rose farm in the Fraser Valley for a wide variety of roses. I have two from the East coast, Newfound and PEI both have huge selections, catalogues. I ordered from both "The Seed Company" is extremely good for almost any veg or flowers. Yes, find local. The seeds are grown in your climate and soil conditions. The Wet Coast has an entirely different climate.
