December 5th 2020 Pickle Gulch Stripped JK

Saturday December 5th a team from Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery went up the backside of Pickle Gulch to retrieve a stuck JK, that unfortunately had been stripped by vandals and thieves before we could get there.
Thursday December 3rd the team went up to assess and install parts to make this recovery easier, and by Saturday morning MORE parts were missing from the jeep.
If you hear of any cheap JK headlights, brake lights, shocks, control arms, track bars, etc for sale online... they might be off this rig.

Is like you want to put a bait vehicle out there then wait for the parts thieves to show and fill their vehicle with lead... Zero repercussions for theft today it seems

If vandals are caught, their rig should be disassembled to repair the rig that was vandalized. What ever is left, crush it.

Great job team, I guess I'm old but we could leave a ryour Jeep in the brush for days unlocked with the keys in it and nothing would be touched anymore you're vehicle is not safe anywhere

Man next time I go wheeling I'm going to pack my hunting camera if I break down and hide them in the trees. Reminds me to always go with friends or find a group to go with on facebook.

Sad that vandalism and thievery is still an ongoing problem in that neck of the woods...have broke trail on many occasions in the area...if you like using recovery gear, you have opportunity most every storm on those back roads.

That sucks!! Not that it should be necessary but was there any signage that says the jeep was not abandoned? Sometimes you will see a vehicle in the middle of nowhere that ends up being stolen. Regardless, this would suck so bad that 1st you broke down or whatever, and then you come back to recover it and it's vandalized like this.

no it was a fully registered plated and operating vehicle before thieves and vandals got it. owner slid off in snow (that has since melted) to where it was sitting.

God, I hate Thieves! To Nigel, this was not some abandoned old junker! Who ever stole parts off this knew it was not Abandoned! No signage was necessary or Usefully! A trail cam hidden might have been usefull, nothing less than an armed guard would have Been! Thieves and looters ought to be shot on sight!
