What?! Finish books? Actually, I was just considering starting another new book when I looked at my pile of started books. I will probably continue working on Fountainhead a bit at a time. My copy is so heavy. But I will try to finish Teddy Roosevelt's autobiography. It is interesting. It's also taking up too much space on my shelf. For lighter reading I am working through 22 Dickens Christmas/winter short stories and JRR Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas that he wrote to his children. I have many more started books, but we'll see where I go from there.

@@user-iz6cc6lz3j-Vickie It isn't less dense. LOL Thank you Vickie. I always look forward to your comments. It'll be awhile before any new books are bought; my husband's salary was slashed 28% so we're drastically making adjustments and trying to figure out how to fill the void.

Hi, hello and what a great book choice! To piggyback on another comment, yeah the TV series definitely put a "Hollywood" twist on the story of the Price sisters but I gave it a pass because it was really well acted and somewhat close to the source material. The only part about the show I didn't like was that even though they speak English we still needed the subtitles cause the accents are so strong lol I actually have nothing queued up for December now that I'm looking at my library so that's always really nice but also really awful at the same time! I'm about 75% through the book I'm reading now, Thirst, and when that's done I dunno what I'm gonna pick. Still debating on picking up the new Brandon Sanderson because it's $19.99 on Kindle and I will not pay that much for a digital book out of principle Anyway been ranting long enough! Take care and have a great one

Hi, hello~ It's so funny you mention the English accents being so thick the captions were necessary, because Sunday I was called a racist for saying I couldn't understand someone's accent in a video. smh. So stupid. I suggested the commenter to my post was the racist, because what race was I targeting? Honestly, sometimes I have a hard time understanding my brother. He has a ghetto talk, but also with a bit of Bostonian. We both grew up in San Diego and the same house. It's hilarious. And he asked if I needed a hearing aid. I said no, I need you to enunciate. 🤣 Living in the south has been interesting. Another time my brother was with me, we were in the grocery store and I was asking an employee if they had something in stock, maybe in the back, because it wasn't on the shelves. And he said there might be some in the warhouse. My brother looked at me. I could see him in my peripheral. My son looked at me, then back at my brother and had to turn away because he wanted to laugh. I thanked the employee, he left and I turned to my brother and said, "warehouse." He lives in South Carolina, he knows how thick the accents can be. And I LOVE accents, but no, apparently I'm racist if I can't understand on. 🤔 Okay, bet you're sorry you mentioned the Price Sister series. What?! You don't have any books lined up? Are you okay? Do you have a fever? Do you need to call 9.1.1? good grief, that's an awful lot of money for a kindle copy. Loved the rant. I hope mine wasn't too bad. Cheers.

No books lined up! I should be finishing up this book tonight or tomorrow night so hopefully I'll have something figured out by then, I have so many in my backlog I haven't gotten around to yet so might as well now And wow! Yeah some people just wanna be offended. There's nothing wrong with not understanding an accent!

The Churchill book looks so thick! I'm interested in the Say Nothing book, but I started to watch the movie and there was a lot of profanity so I quit. Is the book like that too?
@BookZealots26 күн бұрын
The Churchill book is very dense. Loads of information. I'll have to nibble at it. I wasn't aware there was a movie about Say Nothing. It's so annyoing when books are made into movies and sensationalized by vulgarity and/or profanity. I do not have a note that there have been any cuss words. I'm only on page 50, but if there had been, I would have notated it. So far, it's similar to a documentary about how catholic families got involved in marxism and socialism in Ireland. sorry to hear the movie was rubbish. =(
