I love how there’s always layers to this band and not just musically, but also in the way they present or promote their art. So, as we know now, the picture of Trey and Page bringing out the keyboard on the Barn’s deck was a hint that something bigger was afoot for 2pm. The obvious connection to Colorado ‘88 was made but I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted this type of heartfelt release. By the way, I’m the weirdo who keeps chasing these guys to catch a “Brian and Robert”, “Lifeboy” or a “Mountains in the Mist”, all of which I’ve been fortunate to hear over the years. Of course, I love a blistering jam filled “Tweezer” or 4 song second set but this album is such a great treat and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. God bless these guys... Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone out there. We’ll be together soon enough.

Just something cool that I didn’t notice at all tbh. I read it in the comments on Page’s Instagram earlier when they posted that pic along with the 2pm announcement. It’s almost exactly the same... I’ve listened to this a few times over already and it’s another great release IMO. Obviously I’m bias but the sound is superb and the general melancholic mood is so soothing..🍻

That whole instrumental passage in Coil is truly transcendent. I’ll never forget listening to it for the first time on my Bose headphones while I hiked in a snowstorm in eastern oregon. Magical doorways of possibility were opening everywhere in geometry of the falling snow crystals. It set my whole imagination a light and went very very well with the dose I’d eaten. I’d go so far as to call it a masterpiece. Loving the mellow, older, wiser Trey and Page. The gentleness, poignancy and spaciousness. Just what the doctor ordered for this kid who grew up on Hunter/Garcia
