Totally agree that Rainwilds is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be! I really loved the character drama in that one and the world buidling implications are just amazing!! And dammit, I am so mad at myself for still not having gotten to my reread of Ninth House and The Atlas Six, because I am dying to read both of those sequels!! LOVE to hear that you enjoyed The Wall of Storms and The Paper Menagerie so much, those are two of my faves as well!! Great wrap-up, I hope you can carry the good reading mood over into the new year! Happy reading 🥰

Loving Fellowship makes me very happy - I don’t think in my multiple readings of LotR I’ve ever read them spaced out like that, always as one story spread over 3 books, but I truly hope you love Two Towers and Return as well. Happy New Year Jordan!

In December I read: *Espionage* Call for the Dead / John le Carré - It was fine. *Fantasy* Sword of Shannara / Terry Brooks - Post-Apocalyptic story heavily influenced by LotR. Didn't love it. I've the rest of the trilogy but since they're all standalones I'll spread these out throughout the rest of the year. Probably. *Sci-Fi* Eversion / Alastair Reynolds - My first Reynolds and definitely not my last. *Urban Fantasy* Dresden Files 15: Skin Game Dresden Files 16: Peace Talks Dresden Files 17: Battle Ground Dresden Files 17.4: The Law - I'm caught up! And now I've finally resuming RotE.

If you want to read more short stories, pick up Ted Chiang. His storytelling is masterful.

To be fair, I did not plan on reading it, I just decided spur of the moment to pick it up. 😂
